That was my life on the drug of depression
I knew no escape; the thoughts were to tear my heart
I have thought that, if I did die, would you be there?
No; no one needs to know where I ended my life
My own life was a waste of decadent air that I breathed

I did cry, I remember, I cried: “Lord, if you are, save me!”
Then came a sudden wind, blowing at me, knocking me down
Fear, absolute fear, stabbed my heart, making me choke
I could not breathe, my heart hammering my chest…
Each pound, stronger than the last; my body felt suddenly cold

I started to shiver, my body soaked in blood, running from head to toe
Each cut, a scar, just like a crack in the mirror, before to shatter
Then within my fear, there came a warmth; a tender warmth
This warmth was unlike any other that I felt before, so I wondered
I wondered if I was hallucinating all this, so I checked over myself

No cuts, no scars, just a mended mirror, reflecting a silhouette
The image came clearer as I continued to stare deeply into the mirror
The image, horrific to my own eyes, but I could not turn away
The image was I but it was not me, it had words written
“Here lies, Vincent Iscariot Key. D.O. B: 12.24.1985; D.O.D. 12.24. 2008”
