Chapter 2

The demons don't care much for the difference between the light of day, or the shades of night. They still hunt and kill regardless of the time and day. But they love to mess with the christians of this town by killing people and then stringing them up on the doorsteps of small churches on the day of rest. then you have the rest of the creatures; vampires, lichens, abominations and sometimes there's a beasty you have no idea what it is. Like this one time I met this fish-human thing that would kidnap children... never did find out what happend to the children.
This night would top all of the things i've seen in my life. I've been currently following a case where people have been slowly disapearing from this church to the South of the city. So far ten people have vanished; 6 males, 2 females and 2 children. I have a strong feeling this involves some form of demon. Mostly because it's demons that love to hunt the religious, they find some sort of humor in killing people who believe god will protect them from evil. At least that was the reason behind one I had garroted with razor wire; bloody mess that was. Then again, it could also be some whack job who believed that it was God that was telling him to kill.
So far I only had a few leads in the case. I had interviews with some of the people who attended the same church as the missing people. The missing have nothing really in common, except for the church, and it would be hard to guess who would be next. The rest of the faith are afraid to even go out at night, and were hesitent to answer the door and kept the chain lock on the door as I interviewed each one. One that stood out the most was an old lady who had me talk threw a cup with a string in it. It still amazes me how that works.
