The secrets of the Mansion

Each room had a distinctive feeling as if someone was still there, I sort of presence if you wish, a sort of knowing that you where not alone, and the furniture still there since god knows how long even the same sheets where on the bed from the last 100 years ago. Each and every part of the house felt watched as if someone did not want Ethel and her farther there, it was the first time Ethel had had the chance to look at the house properly since her dad bought it, There was about 26 rooms all together in the Relebought mansion, and each one was filled with the cruel feeling of death. Although this would scare most 13 year old girls Ethel did not feel scared at all, in fact she felt excited, excited that there could be a deep dark secret that the Relebought mansion was keeping that no one had none since 1806.

It was time for tea and Ethel still hadn’t decided which room to occupy as her own. However she made her way down the three flights of stairs to the dinning room where her father was sat at the massive solid oak table which was yet another peace of furniture that was left here at the mansion, there was twelve chairs around the table five on the right side five on the left side and one at either end of the great oak table. Ethel’s father had a great big smile on his face as he sat there and one end of the table with all the silverware placed in every place at the table, although there was only two plates out. “Dad” Ethel said in a sort of nerves voice “Why have you put out all the silverware, there’s only two of us dinning.” “I know” said her father still smiling, “I didn’t place them there… they where there when we arrived still placed out since yonks ago.” Words could not describe Ethel’s emotions when her father told her this, why was everything still here since that long ago? Even the perfume was on the dressing tables, even the old food was in the store rooms, there was even a old bath still with its water in and a towel on the floor. This was getting stranger and stranger the more Ethel thought of it.
What if there was still someone here after that long ago, what if they hadn’t gone at all.

After tea Ethel remand quite still thinking about what her father had said at the dinner table, she decided to look for a bedroom before it got to dark, for the mansion didn’t have any proper electricity. The first bedroom she entered was medium sized with long drapes that where worn from the sun, it had a double bed and to bedside tables on each side with some dead flowers in vase’s, the wardrobe was hard oak like the table down stairs it had old hangers in it but no clothes, this was a nice room well decorated with pattern on the ceiling and walls.
The second room she entered was huge with a four poster bed a even bigger oak wardrobe and a chandelier, it had more richer looking patterns on the ceiling and walls, it also had an on sweet with a deep bath tub it had lots of lady’s perfumes and lotions on the sink and still a gown on the radiator.

The last bedroom Ethel entered was small with no curtains a single bed and very cramped it was the newest looking bedroom, Ethel sat on the bed, the bed was warm as if someone had just got up from it Ethel leaped up all of a sudden a whoosh of air came from know where! Ethel ran back downstairs as fast as she could “what was that?!” she said aloud. The secrets of the mansion where like a call of someone, someone that was alone, scared and cold.

The next day Ethel was still asleep in the medium sized bedroom she had chose this one particularly because it was the furthest away from the weird small bedroom with the presence of someone Ethel would rather not meet. Ethel was in a light slumber when she heard the ringing of a bell, like a bell that rung when servants down in the kitchens had to bring up the food to the masters or mistress of the house. Her father came wulsing in, “You rang?” He looked annoyed. “I, I never rang I thought… you did?” Ethel looked scared by now. “Don’t worry” her father said “I’m sure the bell its just set to go off at that time” he smiled and walked off.

I did this one a VERY long time ago. ^^

It was a rainy day, which was no surprise considering it always rained in Cloudenex and it also was no surprise that Saffy (The hero of our story) was outside in her Yurts garden playing with the nearest codiac she could find, which here means a grasshopper. Suddenly Saffy stopped in her tracks, the codiac hopped away fast as it could but Saffy wasn’t taking notice of that she was more interested in the weird looking old man entering her village. He had a hunch and wore a huge cloak which was tattered and battered, he also had his hood up and a walking stick which he leaned upon, you could make out that he had long thin hair that wasn’t all there. He suddenly glanced up at Saffy, she quickly turned away but she saw that he had only one eye the other was covered with an eye patch, he carried on regardless of Saffy’s staring.
Later that day Saffy went down to the lake, she looked down at her reflection it wasn’t pretty but it wasn’t ugly Saffy had dark brown hair long and straight with one small plaited braid in the front of her hair she was quite tall for a 13 year old and an average weight for her age. She sat down by the lake and thought about the old man that she saw earlier on that day “I wonder what he was in Cloudenex” She said aloud, suddenly she heard a breaking off a stick she leapt up and turned around then the standing about 2 meters away was the weird old man! He smiled a black toothless smile, to tell you the truth it was more like a sly grin he took his walking stick by both hands and suddenly the top of his stick (were he had an orb) turned from clear to the colour of red, he lowered it to point towards Saffy and started mumbling words under his breath, Saffy fortunately new it was a dark sorcery’s magic staff and before the beam from it hit her Saffy spun into the air and dodged it!
