The Journal (Love it... Fear it)
Well, I like to write. A lot. So, when I really don't want my mother (Love ya ma) breathing down my back knowing what I'm writing, I suppose I'll write here. . .
Spell Bound Chapter 1: Of Trash Cans, and Cars
Hmm. I am just randomly doing this.

I didn't want to track down the crazy lady. If I had a choice, I wouldn't be, but do I? No. If I had my way, I would still be sleeping in my nice, warm bed, instead of crouching behind some nasty dumpsters in the minus ten degrees weather.

"Adele!" My eyes snapped open. I resisted the urge to yawn. "Snap out of it!" I muttered something unintelligible, even to myself, and then went back to imagining the warmth of my bed, and why one earth I agreed to wake before noon on Saturday. Oh yeah. I didn't have a choice. I had sold my soul to the devil, in an almost literal sense. Meet Emele Baxter. My best friend, and at the current moment, worst enemy.

"Remind me why I agreed to this again?" I asked the questionable substance on the side of the dumpster.

"Because someone decided that it would be a great idea to mouth off to the substitute teacher, AND flip her the bird as she was leaving the school."

"If she hadn't given me that dirty look, I wouldn't of had to. It practically screamed 'Go rot in the fiery depths of-"

"Here she comes!" Emele hissed. I turned and watched silently as the canary yellow sedan pulled into the condo parking lot across the street. "Are you sure you want to do this?" Emele asked quietly, studying me apprehensively. I clutched my locket to my chest and gazed at the woman stepping out of her car.

"Absolutely." We crept across the street, careful not to seem too suspicious. The tall brown haired woman slammed her car door, and locked it, looking around worriedly. Her pace started picking up as she walked through the door of the condos. I sped up also, not liking the feeling dread in my stomach. Emele was behind me, a stony glare on her face. We shoved people aside as we struggled to keep up with the suspect. I glanced around, wondering if there were too many people to use magic.

"Don't even think about it." I heard Emele behind me. A small smile tugged at my lips.

"Young ladies!" A security guard called out to us, alarmed by our speed. We ignored him and continued our chase. "Hey!" He called louder and started chasing us.

"Dammit!" I hissed and quickly muttered a spell. "Conspicuously inconspicuous may we hide." I sighed in relief as I saw the guard look around in confusion.

"Adele!" Emele yelled, now in front of me. We both watched in silent shock as the woman...my only lead, stare at us with a smirk. She walked into a closet.

"Wait!" I shouted, but she had already shut the door, and with a flash of light, both she and the door was gone. I felt my hands drop.

"Addy..." Emele tucked a lock of her sunshine like hair behind her ear and walked toward me. "I'm so sorry...We'll get her next time."

"So close." I muttered. "So...close." I heard Emele quietly cast a transportation spell, and the area around me melted away.
