An Attypical Life
kay, i'm back ^^

it was a great trip! i have to admit, i felt a little left out for a while there, because i don't actually know my sister that well (she's only my half sister) and there were sooooo many people there, but overall it was a lot of fun! i got to visit with a bunch of other family too, so even if i didn't talk much to her at least i got to see everyone else smile making it well worth the trip up.

the part that actually made me feel left out, is when they were taking a bunch of professional pictures before the actual ceremony and i was never asked to join in. she has two other half sisters (from her mom and we're related via our dad) and they were recognized as siblings throughout the service whereas most people didn't know i had any connect to her at all. i guess it makes since though, because she actually grew up around the other two sisters, and we only exchanged a few letters and saw each other at a couple of family events over the years.

still, i was rather sad when everyone else was getting pictures with her and i was left standing around in a group of people i didn't know. that really sucked. and i felt almost like crying or at least like running away to hid for a little while there. i reminded myself that there were lots of other people around who didn't even show up early enough to see the pictures being taken, much less have they're own shots with her and the groom.

i was mostly relieved though, when the people i actually knew got back and i was able to follow them around again.

after we got past the pictures and everything it was great! i got lots of pics of my own and some video. i had a pretty front and center seat for the wedding and, as i said, i really enjoyed seeing my other family.

also the cake was really yummy ^^ and the punch wasn't bad either razz serious though, they had some really good food there, and the decorations were beautiful. it was a lot of fun ^^

know my only real concern is how i'll top it if/when casey and i have our service lol i'm rather joking, because i know there's no way we'll have that kind of money, all though i do hope we have enough for a nice service. maybe we could have it in one of the cathedrals around here or have a buddhist style wedding. although, it'd probably be most appropriate to have it outside, since i'm not actually bound to any religion (casey's buddhist but raised catholic). but a buddhist style wedding could be a lot of fun, and would be a nice cultural expereince for them. plus it'd be so different from her's that there wouldn't be any direct comparisons made. hmm, yes i'll have to think about this.

in other news, my brother (older half brother, again through my dad - he got around) is having a baby! his name is Elijah and he was due either the 31st or 1st. so far he's a no show, but they're thinking they'll induce labor if he doesn't show by wednesday. i think that's rather sad, because maybe he doesn't want to be born yet. also, there's the fact that she may just be a slow birther (my mother was) and there's nothing wrong with that. i guess though, after nine months, it's understandable that they're getting anxious. it's their first kid too.

i can't wait! i'm gonna have a nephew!!!

course that just makes me want a kid of my own all the more -_-; damn my biological clock, it's been ticking louder every year, actually the last year it seems to get louder every few months, and this last month or two it's jumped a few volums. i'm at the point now, that i'd almost rather have a baby now and just deal with having one during school (even though i always promised myself i wouldn't do that, but would wait tell after i'd graduated and was settled into the working world).

*sigh* at least casey's good about keeping me at bay. and i know i'll live. i just wish i could hurry up and get there. but then, time goes fast enough as it is, so i'd better focus on the here and now and just try to enjoy my life as a free (childless) college kid/young adult, eh?
