How Can My Parents Call Themselves That?
I'm sorry if this sounds a bit more angry than my normally depressed mood, but I like journaling to let out stress. Now, is it just me, or do some parents not deserve the title of parent? I just started crying in front of my parents because my dad was telling a depressing story about a painting (I have a project where you have to explain "the story behind the art" wink , when I'm already upset. I say "You're gonna make me cry," and he continues. Eventually, I reach my sad limit and little bubbles of water appear in my eyes. They remain there for about one entire minute before I grab my napkin and start doing a big dab technique (I hate touching my eyes when they're wet, by the way, so I know it's bad.) While I start, my mom comes into the room and says that she found the book with the utterly depressing story in it. Halfway through me poking a napkin into my eye, she looks at me and says, "Are you crying or do you have something in your eye?" And yes, she really said that. And she heard the end of Dad's story. Now, maybe I'm being too sensitive to this, but I think I have a good reason to be angry. What kind of mom asks that when she sees that tears are about to fall from her daughter's face from both eyes? I don't know. Sometimes I just wish my parents went on a long vacation like the neglectful parents always do in manga, and that they'd just keep sending me postcards and money. Yeah. I don't like my parents. I think that even my friends at school (who I've only talked to consistently for a year) know more about me than my parents do. Is it jsut me, or a all parents self-conceited jerks that only care about making their life partially easier by helping you with homework and projects just so they can send you off to a faraway college and never see you again because they made your life a living hell while making sure no one else around them finds out?
