When I roused, mum was bringing me food.

“Sorry,” I said.

“About what?” she set the food down, next to the bed.

“The mess and also the stress I’ve put you through for how ever long it was. Someone brought me home again last night. I think he was a Gate Ganger and I think he likes me. He may be back later. Just be polite to him, I’ll handle the rest.”

“Nick, what are you talking about?!”

“Heh, sorry. I’m babbling again aren’t I? Oh, well, never mind. After I eat, I think I’ll sleep for a bit longer. It feels like I haven’t really slept in such a long time. I’ll bring the dish out later.”

“Okay Nick, and thanks for getting the girl’s organized.”

“It’s okay, I might even end up going back to school this week… Once I’ve caught up on sleep. Later, mum.” I propped myself up on the pillows and ate, and then I slept some more. I was so tired but considering all the sleep I hadn’t got while the Pretty Boy was messing me about, I had plenty to catch up on. I was kind of surprised that he hadn’t dragged me back to his apartment in the Gatehouse… what was it he called that place? Mother House or something? Any way, I’d do my best to see that he didn’t mix my family into this mess.

I woke with cramps.

-Well, that explains some things.- I thought fumbling for Panadol and water… and other necessary items. No sooner was I back in bed than I was asleep again.
