Is that horrid word “Aishiteru…”
I have no Idea what it means to me
It’s discombobulating, foreign, almost a
B U R D E N
To hear from your angelic lips;
How do you know?
Does someone whisper it to your innocent ears?
How do you know?
I hate the word; It pains me…
My blinded ignorance of what it means
“Aishiteru, Aishiteru…”
You say it so, in such a way the words seem to dance
You say it with such burning passion through your eyes
While I return cold blankness;
Grasping to show the same
The warming passionate eyes as you,
But it won’t reach through no matter how much I say
“I love you too…”
Why is it so pure coming from you?
The clarity and serenity of your warm hugs…
I try the exact same and there’s nothing behind it like you.
“Aishiteru…”
Stop…just stop…
I can’t say it.
You know that, why are you so persistent?
You ask me everyday, every night if I love you
And every time I respond the same
“Very much”

Is it really true though?
Is that why I feel so empty when I say it?
I hate it.
Stop saying such a sinful word.

Don’t you feel the static?
The non-excitement?
