IT'S RIDICULOUS.

I won't be allowed to work until I start classes, which won't be until probably February 2010 there when I was planning on going there during or sometime after summer of 2009. Right now I'll probably have to go over there later than I had expected.

And even then I won't be able to work for more than 20 hours a week. And it'll have to be at some "casual" job. I don't know exactly what they mean by that, but it probably means I can just do things like waitressing. And by that time I'll already have experience with that, since I assume by the time I graduate I'll be a server at Perkins.

And I also need to show that I'll be able to provide my travel expenses, living expenses, and tuition. I'm also not allowed to get a loan for my tuition.

So hopefully it'll be okay if I show that I'll be living with others and they'll be providing for my living expenses and helping me out financially. James's mom is okay with me staying with her if my parents agree to it. (Yay for James's mom! whee The hard part is getting my parents' approval. xp So James's mom is willing to talk to me and my parents about it.) So it'll either be that or living with James and Beau if the two of them have their own place by then (which is quite possible, since they plan on living in Beau's house when his parents move out).

But then there's still the issue of tuition. It's cheaper there. A master's degree in journalism at the University of Melbourne is under $50,000. A bachelor's at La Trobe is a little less than $50,000.

And I know if I try hard enough I CAN get scholarships with my really high academic standing.

I'm probably going to pull my hair out trying to do this, but it'll be worth it in the end.
