In a world consumed by fright
There is A Darker Shade of Night
Where the shadows tend to bite
And where life forgets the light

And the men aren't bold
When the blood runs cold
Where the lies are told
And the truths are sold

And the children tend to cry
And some of us can fly
Where everythings a lie
In a world where we can't die

And the women sin
And the villains win
In this world we're in
Where the sun had been

The light won't rise
To the chilling cries
As the crow flies
Through the pitch black skies

The wolf is king
In the pale moons ring
And the sirens sing
Of the ravens wing

And magic is motion
In the velvet ocean
Of the minds emotion
And the bodies commotion

Where the fire burns
And the water churns
Where the wind earns
What the earth yearns

So please don't fight
Those of us who bite
Because without the light
