Ignorance is bliss
I am a Christin. I always have been. I always plan to be one. But I have been mocked for my faith. I know no a days it is to be expected. Everyone has different cultures, different belief systems. Who am I to day what is right or wrong? Because who knows maybe I am wrong. Maybe we all are wrong!
I understand why people have mocked me. Most people follow there faith blindly. But I don't. I ask questions. I think about things. There isn't a day that goes by were I don't question it or myself. I have always wanted to be one of those people who follow there faith blindly. No questions, no worries, there god will open all of the doors for them. But I am sorry people. That is just not the world we live in. Nothing is handed to you on a silver plater. And You know...Maybe... I dont want to be one of those people. I like the struggle I like the challenge of life.
One thing that kid of bugs me is when people say that there is no God, because if there was the world wouldn't be in the state it is in now.
...Right...so you want to live in a world were you have no self-control and everything is ok? Talk about boring. We were given the gift of free will...what we do with it is our choice. We just didn't choose the smart way....well...I am not sure...I know this sounds cliche but it is so true. With out good there is no Evil and with out Evil there is no good. Thats kind of what it boils down to in the end.
Sometimes it seems as if Evil is dominant. And Yeah I believe it sometimes. But that is because we only see things that are bad. You dont watch the news to see who planted a tree today, you watch it to see who blew up another bomb! Good isnt attractive. Evil is! It always has been, and always will be..that is the world we live in. But there is still a lot of good in this world. I have seen it. I know it is out there! We just need to find a way to bring it out.
It only takes one person to change the world...History has proven this several times over....

And I know how you feel. I used to be the same way when I was Christian. Hell, I'm Wiccan and I still question my faith. It's how I was brought up. To ask questions. And when I asked my parents why they encouraged asking questions about religion, they said "It's how you learn." And I believe it.
Some things you have to take in blind faith. For example, the existance of God. I'm not saying there is a God and I'm not saying there isn't a God. It's like you said. For all we know, there may not be a God. For all we know, there may be a God. Hell, for all we know, the ancient polythestic religions had it right and there were many gods and goddesses! The only way we will find out is when we die. But you still believe that God exists, though you can't see him.
As for evil being dominant, I don't believe that. Evil only seems as though it's dominant because that's what people put emphasis on. There's a saying that refers to the media that goes "if it bleeds, it leads." And that is so true. All you have to do is open a newspaper.
The opinion of others on the way you believe shouldn't concern you. As long as you are happy with the way you believe, I believe God will be happy with whatever religion you follow. I honestly don't think God cares what religion you are. If He did, wouldn't He have done something about it by now?
In response to the people who follow the faith blindly and let the Bible run their lives, I found a plaque in a magazine that said "God wants religious fruits, not spiritual nuts." God wants us to question and learn, and not to be ignorant. He wants us to grow. If you have a plant but you don't give it what it needs to grow, the plant will die. I believe the same can be said for faith. By questioning your faith, you are giving it what it needs, and then your faith can grow.
