The Island
There is an ocean, vast and great
That no ship could ever sail it.
Yet dotting this great sea are thousands and thousands of islands
All drifting on it's waves.
Though many of them, they cannot see eachother,
And so each one thought they were the only ones.
Until one day, when two islands met,
And soon they were friends.
To celebrate their friendship, they built a bridge
Though made of vine and wood, it was sturdy nonetheless.
Over the years, the islands grew more, as well the bridge between them
Soon the bridge was not of vine, but strong earth and stone.
But their happiness was not to last, for the winds of fate were blowing.
It turned the skies grey, the ocean black, yet the islands did not see.
And soon the storm hit, destroying the bridge between them,
And when it did, the storm summoned waves, forcing the islands far apart.
As quickly as it came, the storm disappeared, but it's damages were forever.
As the days passed, the islands have forgotten eachother.
Memories forgotten, feelings faded, and soon the islands forgot completely forever.
And this is why so many have said that love is our cruelest, cruelest sea.
