Fate of Two Brothers (my story for English)
Okay my friend Fayt helped me with this so remember I don't get all of the credit!!!

Fate of Two Brothers

Ah, Budehuc Castle, a lovely place, aside from the impossible to pronounce name. It had a nice lakeside view. That was one of many thought of Sasarai, a Harmonian bishop, as he walked through the town where the castle, his new home, was. The Harmonian bishop was, in fact, taking a stroll around, buying a lottery ticket or two, getting his fortune told, and overall, having a good time. The war was over, and through a miraculous series of misunderstandings on fate's part, his dear twin brother, Luc, was still alive. Fantastic. Luc hated Sasarai. Sasarai liked Luc, but Luc did not appreciate their brotherly love.
Luc had always been a little whacked out in the head, ever since that whole pudding incident fifteen years ago. Someone gave him pudding and he went on a bit of a rampage so no more pudding for Luc. Sasarai shook his head, lightly chuckling at the memory of the story. He himself had not been there to see it, but he had connections inside of what was once Riou's army (which Luc had been in at one point in time). This gave him a warm, fuzzy feeling inside that was akin to love, but was really more of a sadistic giggling at his brother's pain. Sasarai put up a wonderful front.
Indeed, on the outside Sasarai loved his brother seemingly with all his heart, but down--way deep down--he probably hated Luc just as much as Luc hated him.
Ah, if only they could go back to their childhood!
Albert and Caesar got along well enough, why couldn't they?

Speaking of Caesar, Sasarai couldn't help but wonder where Thomas was. He and the redheaded strategist had been spending an awful lot of time together, probably due to their parts in all the plays that had been starting up recently.
Which reminded Sasarai of his own part as...the shepherd boy, was it? Yes, right, the shepherd boy, in one of the plays.
It's not like he was any good at acting, so there was no need to practice! Ha.

Luc was lying around in his room. He may have defied fate and lived but boy was he in pain after that beating he took. He had stolen the true runes (orbs that hold miraculous powers and choose who their wielder shall be) from their wielders. They eventually caught up with him and nearly killed him. He was lucky to be alive!
The area where his room was located was surprisingly a little silent. Most likely due to the many plays taking place in the castle.
"Hmm...Maybe I'll go check out the play. It might actually be interesting,” Luc thought. He winced at bit due to his wounds and was about to leave for where the plays took place, the tavern.
That is until—

Sasarai’s brother-senses were tingling.
"Luuccc~" he called, heading up to where his brother was staying in the castle.
"Looovin' yooou~ is easy 'cause you're beautifullll~~" he sang, seemingly on crack.
Where would he have heard Minnie Ripperton, otherwise?
"La la la la, la lalala, laaa, do-do-do-n-dee-doo~"
Yes, yes indeed. He was singing to Luc. Not singing -while he was looking- for Luc, but singing to his dearest brother. Probably to just tick him off and get him out of bed, that lazybones.

"Oh no, it's Sasarai!" Luc said to himself. He was in enough pain as it was. He didn't need his twin brother annoying him as well!
"Go away, Sasarai. Besides, I'm already out of bed so why the wake up call?" he asked, not pleased.
The thing Luc was really trying to figure out was why he chose to sing that song. If anyone told Sasarai to sing that to him they were so going to die later, by Luc’s hands of course!

Sasarai knocked on the door (just to be polite), before opening it, greeting his brother with a shining aura of... Sasarai.
"It matters not, my brother, you shouldn't be laying around in bed. Activity is the best cure for any form of pain, unless said pain is too bad to keep you from moving."
He moved a little closer. "And obviously," closer, "you can move," he smiled, hugging his brother.
Jeane (the skimpy wearing Rune mistress) must've done something, seriously. Even with as weird as Sasarai was, he wasn't this weird!
Maybe he had a bad night or something.

Luc turned a bright red. What the heck was wrong with his brother? "Are you drunk or something?! Get off of me!!" Luc barely pushed Sasarai off of him and ran! Almost as if for his life!

"Great, first my pudding and now my brother's even more messed up then usual! What next?"

"Brother!" Let it be noted that Sasarai hardly ever referred to Luc by name nowadays, but it did happen.

"Hi...Luc," Thomas (the young castle lord) said, watching the older man run past him with such speed that it almost knocked the papers out of his hands. "What's...going on?" he called, hoping to get an answer to his question before Luc was a mile away.

"I didn't mean anything by it!" Sasarai attempted, rushing past Thomas as well, almost knocking him into the wall. "Ah, my apologies. Now, if you'll excuse me..." Sasarai said.

"...What's going on?" Thomas asked himself, frowning slightly.

"I’ve got to find somewhere to hide but where?" Luc thought to himself.
Wait a minute.." Luc thought, "That's it!"
Luc stopped running long enough to yell something at his brother. "Hey if you keep chasing me all over the castle you'll be late for the play!"

Sasarai halted. He didn't want to disappoint anyone...but he also wanted to be near his brother.
"Dearest brother," Sasarai started, "come watch the play?"
It wasn't like he was planning to show off, but it'd keep Luc in one spot for him to continue his chase as soon as the play was over.

Luc stood there in silence for a moment."...I have a feeling you'll just force me there if I say no so fine. I'll go," he agreed.
Sasarai smiled in satisfaction.
"Come along, then," he said, ushering his brother towards the tavern where the play was to take place.
Luc followed his brother who seemed very delighted about all of this.
He started to wonder how the heck the two were related. As well as everyone's response when they see the two brothers together and not killing one another!

Sasarai didn't understand why he was cast as the shepherd boy, but whatever.
His acting skills were...lacking.

Luc followed his brother to the tavern.
"I have arrived!" Sasarai announced, making his brother take a seat at one of the tables (Near Caesar, who was tapping his foot impatiently and twirling random strands of his hair...something that was sure to annoy Luc.)

"…I wonder what happened to that kid Thomas. Oh well" Luc thought to himself. He vaguely remembered almost bumping into him earlier when he was running from Sasarai.

When they got to the tavern Luc could feel people staring at him. Even if the crowd wasn't that big yet it made him uncomfortable. He never had been a very social type person.
Luc tried to sit as far as he could from Caesar (or anyone else for that matter).
"Hey, who are you even supposed to be, Sasarai? I mean you suck at acting." Luc asked. If he had to be in the same room as his twin brother then he might as well talk to him. No matter how much he may dislike it.

"I'll have you know," Sasarai answered, taking a seat while he waited to be called up to start the play. Great now Sasarai was sitting next to him. Oh well, Luc probably brought it on himself by talking to him. "I'm playing the shepherd boy. Besides, I am not that bad of an actor." Even if he did deny it, he knew deep down it was true. He wasn’t a good actor.
"I'm a better actor than you, anyway."

Sasarai was probably wrong. Luc was a pretty convincing good guy, but that could just be because no one thought otherwise...him being a Bishop and all for the longest time

"Hmm. Deny it all you like but I still think you're a pretty lousy actor...Wait a second shepherd boy? What play is this?" Luc stated. He didn't interact with people here (or people period) to know what play is going to take place.
In the background Luc could barely here some people saying how stupid it was that Luc had no idea about the plays and stuff like that.

"Honestly, brother, I should think you would know!" Sasarai exclaimed, making a few people nearby jump. "It's The Boy Who Cried Wolf. I think you'd make a good wolf...perhaps Yuber could be the sheep." Then again, the roles would be better reversed, taking into consideration Yuber's bloodthirsty personality.

"Anyway," he said, waving his hand in the air, "it's a childish tale, but it makes for a good play. You should've seen Caesar and Hugo in Romeo and Juliet. That was true entertainment."

"Why was it so entertaining?" Luc asked. He had a bad feeling in his stomach. Sasarai had said that Romeo and Juliet were entertaining and with that face it told Luc it was the funny type of entertainment.

"Heh," Sasarai chuckled, "Caesar's a terrible actor,"

"I am not!" the redhead insisted from across the table, frowning at the bishop and his twin brother.
Luc managed to chuckle a bit at Caesar's response to Sasarai's remark. (Which was VERY rare for Luc)

"Right, I'm sorry," Sasarai replied, before continuing, "and Hugo didn't seem up to the task of playing a woman's part. He eventually just told Caesar to go away, and the play ended on a rather sour note. All the same, it was quite hilarious." Sasarai was not the type to laugh out loud at anything, but when everyone else was booing the poor performance, Sasarai was -giggling- to himself and clapping.

"So..." Luc was starting to realize who was who in that play. "That's just screwed up."
Luc actually felt sorry for Hugo. If it had been Luc in that situation he probably would have killed whoever made the decisions about the plays actors and roles.
"Sounds like it ended up in disaster to me." Luc stated.

"It was the best play I had ever seen," Sasarai replied, smiling as he usually did, before getting up. "That's probably because you have a messed up sense of humor." Luc said to his brother. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a play to star in." He made his way up to the stage, talking to Nadir before going behind the curtains and helping a bit to get everything set up.
"This should be..interesting?" Luc had no clue what to expect since Sasarai never showed that much emotion in his voice. The guy was mono toned after all.

Moments later, the play started.
When the play started things went rather well. That is until Sasarai said his line in a mono toned type voice.
"Help! There's a wolf!" screamed Sasarai who was now the shepherd boy. This would've been good acting, accompanied with his movements, but sadly, he deadpanned it.
"Wolf? I'm not a wolf. I'm Viki," replied Viki. Compared to Viki, Sasarai was an expert actor.
Luc could only watch with a somewhat blank expression. He didn't know what to think of all of this!

"Believe me, everyone. This time there really is a wolf!" Sasarai insisted, unable to keep himself from glancing down at his brother one or twice as he gave his performance.
Luc noticed this. "I wonder..Is this why he was in such a strange mood earlier?" he thought.

Sasarai cleared his throat, watching Rody and Percival run around in the back for a moment, and allowing Jacques to narrate.
The spotlight shone on Sasarai, and he winced slightly before delivering his line.
"Lying is no good, you know."

The crowd hated it and everyone was promptly booed off stage.
"Eheh," Sasarai laughed, watching the crowd leave from behind the curtains, before getting off the stage. "We were terrible, weren't we, dear brother?" he asked, making his way over to Luc and Caesar, the second of which was on the floor, doubled up in laughter.

Sasarai did not appreciate this very much, but ignored it. "But I see you found it amusing," he said, giving a charming grin to his slightly giggling brother.

"You guys were terrible!" Luc said trying to hide his giggling, although it wasn’t working to well! At least he wasn't on the floor dying like Caesar!
Out of nowhere Luc saw Thomas.
Might as well apologize.
"Sorry about earlier." Luc apologized.

Thomas tilted his head, wondering what he was referring to...oh! Right. "Aha, it's nothing to worry about. No one was hurt," he smiled brightly. For being about fifteen years old, he certainly had a commanding aura about him.

"And I apologize again, Master Thomas," Sasarai said, letting go of his brother and Caesar so they could move freely. "I was in a hurry and I wasn't watching where I was going."

Thomas blushed. "It's fine...!"

Caesar grinned. "I feel like I should apologize for something, too."

Luc had to make a smart remark. "Is it because you're so annoying, Caesar?"

Caesar figured it wouldn't matter if he put in his two cents or not, so he just--for once--shut himself up and let others speak.

They all spoke for a while except for Luc who had fallen asleep on the table. Sasarai noticed this and gently nudged his brother.“Rise and shine, dear brother,” Sasarai said but there was no response.
Was Luc ignoring him? Thomas gasped.
“Umm..Luc, are you alright?” Thomas asked, beginning to panic.
“It seems he passed out,” stated Caesar.
“What!?” shouted Thomas and Sasarai.
“Get a doctor! Quickly!!” Sasarai demanded, grabbing Luc and somehow managing to get his brother on his back.
Thomas ran to get the doctor. What was going on? Luc seemed fine earlier. Apparently no one but Sasarai had noticed that Luc was in pain today.

Sasarai managed to get Luc to his room. Although it wasn’t to easy considering Luc weighed not much less then he did! He put his brother on the bed, sat down, and waited. “If only I hadn’t disturbed him today then this might not have happened,” Sasarai murmured to himself, all guilty like. Not long after that the Thomas arrived with the doctor. The doctor shooed Sasarai and Thomas out and began examining Luc.

Sasarai and Thomas waited outside of Luc’s room. Both felt guilty about what had happened to Luc. Sasarai was Luc’s brother and should’ve known his brother needed rest. Even though he didn’t do much of anything but follow him around, Thomas also felt guilty about Luc’s situation. He was the castle lord and was supposed to watch out for those in his castle. It was his responsibility after all.

Thomas looked at Sasarai and saw something he had never seen on the young man’s face before. He saw worry.
“I’m a terrible brother and friend to Luc,” Sasarai managed to say.
He wanted to cry he hated himself so much. Luc was Samaria’s twin brother after all!
“You’re wrong, Sasarai. You actually helped Luc today, I think,” Thomas replied.
All Sasarai could do was stare at the fifteen year old. Was he crazy? Had he not seen what all he did to Luc today?
“Thanks to you I saw something I’ve never seen Luc. I saw him smiling and enjoying himself a bit,” Thomas managed to say.
Sasarai was a bit shocked. Now that he thought about it he knew Thomas right but that didn’t change the fact that he caused what happened to Luc.

Just then the doctor stepped out of Luc’s room and shut the door. Thomas, followed by Sasarai, ran up to him.
“So, how is he?” Thomas asked.
“His body was under quiet a lot of pressure due to his already somewhat crucial condition and a colossal amount of stress from some outer source. He should live but he needs to rest. If you want you may visit him, just try to keep him and yourselves calm,” said the doctor.
“What a relief,” Sasarai sighed.

“Let’s go in,” Thomas said.

“Right,” Sasarai replied.

They walked in quietly trying not to disturb Luc who saw them walk in. He barely managed to sit himself up. He looked really weak at the moment but other then that he was okay. Luc was sort of ashamed to be seen in this condition but he couldn’t do anything about it. Besides, he was sure he had worried them. Boy was he right on the mark!

“Is everything alright?” Luc asked them both.

“Wow, you act like nothing even happened! After all we should be the ones asking you that question,” replied Thomas.

Sasarai tried to hold it back but he couldn’t anymore. He ran up to Luc and hugged him. He was so worried about him. This took Luc by surprise.

“Sasarai..that hurts. You mind stopping..?” Luc asked weakly.

Sasarai realized what he did and quickly let go. Luc saw that his brother was tearing a little and was trying to hold it back. Did his brother care this much about him? Luc felt something strange in his chest. It was different but it was a good feeling. What was it? He had never felt it before.

“Sorry, brother,” Sasarai apologized,” I’m sorry I did this to you. I..I just..”

Sasarai didn’t know what to say. He was sure Luc hated him more now then he did before. Thomas watched and started feeling out of place. He told Luc to get better and left, leaving the two brothers alone.
“Now’s your chance, Sasarai. Now’s your chance to awaken the nicer Luc.” Thomas whispered as he walked down the hall.

Luc stared his brother who had hid his face on Luc’s bed probably trying to conceal his tears. What should he say? Luc may have been a jerk but he wasn’t heartless enough to watch his brother cry!

“It’s alright. I heard you two out in the hall and I have to agree with Thomas. I think..You were trying to help the entire time. Am I right?” Luc stated, again with a weak tone in his voice.
Sasarai managed to raise his head up and look at his brother. Sasarai could tell Luc had changed. He used to be so distant and didn’t care about others. Now he’s like a completely different person.

“Thank you, my brother,” Sasarai said before crying again.
This time they were tears of joy.

“It is I who should be thanking you, brother. Hey, from now on..Please address me as Luc. Alright, my brother, Sasarai?” Luc said.

“Deal” Sasarai agreed.

----------------------------

-3 Months later-

“Wow, Luc! Looks like you’ve finally managed to get back on your feet!” said Thomas.

“That may be but the doctor said I still need to take it easy and the wounds will never completely go away. I’ll still have the occasional winces of pain but it’s nothing I can’t deal with. Maybe now I can finally live as a normal person” Luc stated.

“Glad to have you back, Luc” Sasarai said while giving Luc a very charming smile.

“It’s good to be back, you pain in the butt” Luc smirked.

“Huh? Wait I thought-“ Sasarai started.

“Just kidding, Sasarai,” Luc replied.

((Wow that was..entertaining! LOL Hope you all like it!))
