Today sucked
Everything was going good today till I started to clean the room. While I was cleaning I hit my arm sometime during it and when I looked at my arm because I felt wet I had a big laceration on my arm. About 2 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches deep. How that happened, I'm still amazed. I told my husband right away and he rushed me to the ER. Since this happened at during rush hour there was a lot of traffic. I told him to put on his hazards and go. He did and he ran 3 stop signs, passed in no passing zones when it was safe and was going around 40 in the 25 MPH zones. We made it to the ER where my sister-in-law was already there to meet us. I went in and got Triaged right away and then went out and registered. By time I was registering (2 minutes after I got to the ER) my father-in-law and mother-in-law were there. My husband and sister-in-law had to get to work so they left and my father-in-law went home with my 3 year old niece since she was being a little pain in the curr. After 3 and a half hours I was finally called in to get seen by the on call ER doctor. My mother-in-law and I went in and sat down in the room. The Nurse got everything ready for the doctor and took my vitals. The vital machine wasn't working correct. According to those vitals I should have had a stroke a about 30 numbers ago. They switched machines and got the correct vitals. 5 minutes later the doctor came in to the room. Go figure shift change the other doctor probably didn't want to work anymore. He looked at my laceration and then "numbed" the wound. Yeah right...I felt everything. I have high tolerance for medications. Grrr. He cleaned the area up and then started stitching. 11 stitches later everything was done. I did get a picture of the wound before it was stitched up. It looked pretty cool. Definately a big difference between a dead human arm and a live one.
