HOW STUPID DO YOU GET?!
I was inspired by one of our drills today. One of my characters (Annabelle Maverick Nympha) had played field hockey and lacrosse in High School so I'm writing a short story containing her abnormal victory on the field.
It's going to use too many terms that people who don't play field hockey wouldn't understand, but whatever. I've always had trouble writing this sort of thing, so I'll be doing it:
1) In the first- person narrative
2) In such a way that it includes descriptions of the game itself without getting to be like a sports announcer's babbling
3) With sharp (but not out of place) transitions from one setting to the next.
All weaknesses of mine.
