I joined gaia some three years ago. I was addicted to fanfiction.net, but the site was down. I had seen links to gaia somewhere in one of my favorite author's profile and decided to check it for the heck of it...
My first experience was a discussion on racism in the ED forum. I'm afraid my posts were too long for the average gaian to bother with reading... which was why i ended up in the chatterbox with other newbies, just having random fun...
After that, it was personals -when it still existed- and PMs with a variety of new friends. I also hanged out in the exchange forum a lot, because the marketplace didn't exist. Through those two media I made a variety of friends... but they are now regrettably all gone.
