I wrote my time at Acen Mon. night, but Gaia kicked me off.
My friends and I got there around Thurs. afternoon. We checked in and got in line for badges. Since I got mine in the mail (which I heard I was the lucky few) and my friends/roommates didn't I figured that I could grab some stuff so they wouldn't get bored. It took a while for the line to get organized and started. Since I had my badge I just had to get a goodie bag and for the 10th aniversary it didn't have very much. Also the Acen organizers didn't allow for at con sales that night. Since my roommates had to still pick up thier badges and we got in line around 5 pm and they didn't get to the room until 10pm. Also the programs didn't have the panel times or room numbers.
Fri: I skipped opening ceremonies and went straight to the dealer room because I had a friend working the Funimation booth and that they were selling Reservoir Chronicle Tsubasa collector's box there. While waiting in line the map and the times things were happening was finally printed and a guy waiting with us grabbed a bunch and started handed them out. Skipping opening ceremonies I heard was a good thing because during it was a fire alarm. I heard that it happened during Travis Willingham's introduction and the joke that was going around was that he was practing his fire alchemy. That day I got some autograhs: Kari Wahlgren, Kirk Thornton, and Travis Willingham's. The panels that I went to was the tail end of inside the voice actor's studio, directing anime (English voice actors), Fullmetal Alchemist that had the voice actors from the show. And Wii would like to play with the guests that had Travis Willingham, Colleen Clinkenbeard and one other that I forgot who (curse my lousy memory redface ).
Later that night I went to speed dating and it was a mess. The high schoolers were kicked out so it was only 18+ were in there so the rules were tossed out the window and before all that it took hours and I missed Chris Patton's solo.
Sat. Mostly being in autograph lines. Chris Patton, Greg Ayres, Chris Ayres, Bruce Lewis, Jamie McGonnigal, Greg Weisman, Kyle *********, Mike McFarland, Hiroshi Kojina, and Yuko Minaguchi. I felt sorry for Bruce and Jamie so few people showed up. During that autograph session it turns out hat Jamie McGonnigal is going to Africa of sorts to help out for about month and he asked for some donations to help out.
Inbetween I went to the dealer room and made my most expensive buy to date. The CLAMP chess pieces including the Kuro and Suppi kings, all twelve artbooks, and a chess board. Since the Soap Bubble and improv w guests 18+ were so long I couldn't get in. Though I did go to the Funimation industry panel and they even mentioned Gaia. Before you ask I stopped going to the masquerade because in most cases a person has to wait in line for at least 3 hours before you can get in and it never starts on time.
Sun: That day was only dealer room and last minute autographs. Spike Spencer, Michael Terracciano, Lisa Furukawa (she is a musician that is also at some point going to do anime music), Brina Palencia, Leah Clark, and Colleen Clinkenbeard. I go to closing ceremonies since I had to wait for those that were giving me a ride home. Around half of the Engish guests left and all the Japanese did. I felt sorry for the GM he said three names and most didn't show up.
