Hearing loss can affect a person's life forever. Most people think that hearing loss only caused by natural aging or hearing being exposed to loud noise. The fact is, hearing loss can occur as early as birth. Being born prematurely, being given certain medications, complications at birth, family history of hearing loss, and yes, being exposed to very loud sounds or noises, can all cause hearing loss deafness in one ear children.

Most bacteria in ears by an underlying allergy. Some are caused by water in the ear after bathing or swimming. Dogs with large floppy ears, such as Basset Hounds, are prone to infections as their ear canals have poor air circulation, trapping moisture and allowing bacteria and yeast to grow.

Don't use cotton swabs to clean your ears as they are able to impact the wax into the canal. The simplest solution for the earache is to apply some heat. To give some soothing heat you can either place a heated wheat bag, warmed flannel or hanky on the ear. You can also use a hair dryer by which hot air is directly blown onto the ear.
