A demented and powerful Mamodo who embraces a philosophy similar to eugenics, Clear wishes to take advantage of the Mamodo King's ability to reshape the world to his own will to wipe out everyone he deems inferior to himself. His powers are based on nullification. He is the first Mamodo seen who uses his spells in an attempt to kill rather than simply to burn books. Little is known about Vino, however, he seems to be very young, and is kept in a protective bubble made of Clear's power.

Clear is assisted by Goomu, and makes his entrance into the fight by easily dominating Brago. However, he is defeated by Ashuron, and places himself in a protective cocoon for ten months to recuperate. Even in this state he is powerful, managing to eliminate Kanchome, Purio, and a redeemed Goomu without leaving the cocoon. He returns in a more powerful, cloaked form, which is engaged by Zatch, Tia, Ponygon, and Brago. After a crushing defeat to a stronger Brago, Clear reforms in an armored body, which is defeated by a combination of Brago and Zatch. After this, he reveals his ability to combine with his strongest spell, Shin Kuria Seunousu, transforming into a large, demonic form. This form is mostly destroyed by the powers of the revived mamodo, but what remains of it rockets into space and attempts to destroy the earth. Zatch and Kiyo follow Clear into space, and with the assistance of Brago and all the mamodo who have been sent back, manage to conjure one final spell, Shin Beruwan Bao Zakeruga, that succeeds in burning Clear's book. After the battle, Vino was adopted by Dr. Riddles as his son. After Zatch became king, Clear was resurrected in a small and weak body, without any memories of his time in the Mamodo fight or his life before it. He ranked 3rd place in the fight overall.
