What strikes me most is that there wasn't really much resistance in the Netherlands at all. The only resistance you could speak off came from communists (extreme left). And the general public didn't like communists at all (neither did they like the extreme right wing called NSB).
Are they seriously trying to blame the spree shooting on violent games. rolleyes As you said: a gaming addiction has other causes. Such as feeling like an outcast on school, or being bullied. That's what I would be looking into. There was clearly a lot of frustration and hatred boiling there. Perhaps there's also a link to the manosphere.
But I'm also quite surprised by the amounts of money people pay for collector's items.
Nowadays there's some type of Chinese doll that's really expensive? In China a large one sold for 120.000 euros. But the smaller rare ones can be pricey too. Apparently the hype has also reached the Netherlands, because there was only one shop in the country that sells these dolls and people are standing in line for hours before opening time just to buy a doll. There's luck involved. You can get an ultra rare one, or a very common one.
But aside from that I have accepted her death. There's simply nothing I regret. I only have good memories of her. And she passed away from old age in her sleep. I can't wish for anything better. So I don't have any painful issues to deal with, aside from her absence.
My other cat seems to be doing okay, that also makes the mourning period easier. It's much easier than losing my first cat, who died quite unexpectedly at a younger age and had a sick bed.
