Subject: The Existence of God
-----------------------------
A reoccuring question often heard from people who are struggling with the existence of God concerns the issue of evil and human suffering. It's kind of hard to believe in God when he lets you screw up the world so badly. It's like kids wreaking havoc because they're home alone. Yeah, the kids should have been more responsible, but the parents should have known better. Or were they absolutely oblivious to what their kids were capable of? The short version of the argument sort of goes like this:
If there is a God, why does he allow such horrible things to happen?
So, let's say there is no God.
If we agree that there is no God, is there still evil in the world? Are we still living on a planet infested with corruption and violence? Is our history marred with starvation, murder, and oppression? Are there still hundreds of millions of people starving while we callously throw away our leftovers? If there is no God, is there still evil?
The answer, of course, is yes.
Well if there is no God and we still have a problem of evil, who should we hold responsible.

heh. The good thing about God is that we can blame him for everything.

But the question remains: Who's to blame?

Who's to blame that millions of people will die of AIDS in Africa? That millions of children are left orphaned and starving without any help or hope? That women are set on fire in India so that their husbands can be free to marry someone else and pick up another dowry? That millions of people are buried in the killing fields of Cambodia? That millions of children are living in urban garbage dumps throughout Latin America, homeless and alone, while the people who can help all of these situations are too busy spending money for their own selfish desires!?
There's no God, so you can't blame him...
all that's left to blame is ourselves.
Part of the problem in making sense of life is that we can't even make sense of ourselves. We want to blame God because we don't want to take responsibility for our own mess. We stop believing in God because he won't change it. Is it possible that God does, in fact, exist and we are still fully responsible for the human condition?
Is it possible that God created us with the power to create the world of our choosing?
In truth it is not we who have a right to be mad at God, but God at us. Usually what follows is our God-is-still-to-blame catch-22. Even if it's our fault, why doesn't God fix it? Exactly how would he do that? Consider the options.
For God to create a perfect world, there are only a few limited scenarios. The first would to eliminate all of us. That would fix everything fast. But surely, none of us want that...well, almost none of us. But I digress.
Another way is to control our every thought, movement, and action, in a way where we feel like we have free will. A world wrapped in illusion, where nothing can be changed, everything is paradise, just like in the movie The Matrix. I'm not for a world where we do not have free will where choosing is an illusion. I am personally grateful that God has created us as thinking creatures with the capacity to choose. For God to create us in such a way that we can choose that which is good, true, and beautiful, he must also allow us the freedom to choose that which is corrupt, false, and destructive.
Most of us want God to fix every wrong choice we make without taking from us our right to choose wrongly. We want to make God into our own personal pooper-scooper following right behind us, cleaning up our mess. God lets us make our bed and makes us lie in it.
There's one more option, however. Given that there is a God, he cares about humanity, and he is deeply troubled by the human condition, how could God proceed to actively engage the human dilemma? If God refuses to take from us our free will and he refuses to leave the world in its present condition, what can he do? Here's an interesting possibility: He could change our hearts. He could take us through a process that would move us from greed to altruism, that would move us from indifference to compassion, that would move us from hate to love, apathy to activism. If he could change us, he could change the world (other version: By changing us, he can change the world).
There was once a Roman citizen names Saul of Tarsus who was a religious fanatic and murderer, and he eventually had an encounter with Jesus Christ. He is best known as Paul. He turned from a life of condemnation and violence to becoming a champion of love, hope, and faith. It may seem way too simple, but
the world will change when we change.

Subject: Revolution 1

There is work still to be done in this country. Change needs to come fast, cause the way things are going now is soon to dissipate into nothingness. Why would I go to another country, with people who I don't understand, who don't understand me, and do missionary work? Let's think about this now. Where those countries are poor, I will admit, and they do need a lot of help, that is certain. There is a lot of freedoms in my country that most other places don't have. Have you seen the news lately? It's atrocious! Beside the point though.
Listen, you have to realize that I can go only so far to get religion across. Were I could be killed in a foreign country, or arrested with no chance of seeing daylight again, the same can apply to America. Where there is hunger, poverty, incurable diseases do to lack of money, that's also here in America. Where there are people who've never heard of God, or never believed in God, well, that's even WORSE in America. Americans believe in Scientology, some of them, popularized by movie stars. look up Scientology if you don't understand. It's ludicrous. You could go to another country, and people could easily accept religion and shelter, because it is a means of hope. Where you can do that here as well, a lot of Americans would brush you away. Some are so anti world, they actually brush off hope! Segregation, Poverty, Disease, Tyranny, Communism, Death, Crime, Drugs, Dirty Politics, its all here. America truly does have everything.
What I'm saying, is something I learned a long time ago. You cannot help others, until you help yourself. Whether I like it or not, America is apart of my history, my legacy on this rock. So, how am I supposed to help another person in a foreign place, when I can't help a person in my homeland? In these times, were Christianity is turning Pop Christianity, is turning Post Christianity, I think America needs some help. missionary work in America. What a challenge that could be. Just because temptation surrounds you, just because the easy life glitters like gold, doesn't mean you have to take it. No one's forcing you to do anything.
The only problem with MISSIONARY work in America, is the American way. United States is a breeding ground for lies, betrayal, greed, lust, and overall sin. It won't be easy, then again no where will be. It's more human nature more than anything, just amplified with pride is all.
Not saying all Americans need God (actually I am saying that. I enforce that) but that America needs some help.
I ask anyone brave enough to join me, give up the easy life and the American dream, pick up your bags and follow me. Help me and a lot of other people (Undergrounders) take back America. RETAKE THE REPUBLIC. It's time for change. Armageddon is coming. It doesn't mean the end of days, it means a great change. Why not change today? I don't mean something small. You can start there, but you got to go big to be heard. Paint walls, leave stickers, pot plants, shout your opinions, express the freedom that we take for granted every day of our lives.
I know a lot of you think I'm crazy. Those who don't think I'm crazy are liars. A lot of you are just afraid of concequence. A lot of you are told that reckless ambitions and revolutionary mementos are dangerous and should be oppressed. A lot of you are also told, one way or another, focus. concentrate on work. build up a routine. scrimp and save and never give away your money. you'll never make it if you try. shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land among the stars. Be meek and timid. Let people walk over you. Ignorance is strength. Deceit is honesty. Honesty is deceit. There's more, but there are also many ways to cut a radish, so moving on.
I envy you sometimes, those of you too afraid to voice your opinion. So complacent and happy with ignorance to the truth, never knowing the lifted burden of spreading your wings. Are you really that comfortable being a slave to debt and government?
I found a site today on a dollar bill at work yesterday. I think it seems both extreme, yet satisfying. you may like it. http://www.restoretherepublic.com/ Readers and surfers beware, the site may offend you. it did me a little.
I'll conclude. Anyone wanting to join the invisible war, let me know. pm me or something. post a comment. drop a line. Tell me honestly what you think of me, my ideas, whatever. I want to hear it. I want to know what the huddled masses think of radicals like me. Go on.
