I love reading books and my current obsession is Harry Potter. I have no idea, as in, no frickin idea why Stephenie Meyer is hailed as the "next JKR" like seriously! She is redundant and her god-damn [Voldemort-damned] books are sooo original.
Ooh~ Let me rant [I don't like using the journal-thingy here. heh.] about Twilight. The everything in Twilight. [Back away for those who intensely love it.]
Review :
Twilight doesn't have an original plot line. Forbidden love? Wow. SMeyer is really smart. She says she "got the idea after a dream" and went to write her novel. Whoopee. She's okay, but when comparing her works with JKR's, god you've crossed the line. How she can be hailed as the "next JKR" is truly beyond me. She killed Twilight, in Breaking Dawn, I officially hated the series. She killed it, I say! Killed it!
She's not even brilliant! It's like a sappy fanfiction gone wrong. I swear, If Breaking Dawn was up in Fanfiction.net then I would've flamed it. Seriously, with things saying, "this is so wrong". Stephenie is a wanna-be writer who, even in the books, has grammatical errors! She doesn't deserve to be so popular, and obviously, rich because Twilight is sappy. It has a damn-ugly plot which revolves around Isabella Swan and her ugly-fugly-continuously stupid boyfriend[husband, whateves] Edward Cullen. They are over-rated. Ugh.
Just how someone hails Twilight to be the best book of the CENTURY is utterly beyond me. Compared to Harry Potter, Twilight is like a damn kiddies book gone totally hay-wire. Atleast in Harry Potter people have the sense to call it brilliant, it deserves that adjective because it truly is. JKR is a brilliant and excellent writers, she's in the same league as J. R. R Tolkien and C. S Lewis. Gods of alternate universe. Seriously.
Okay, going off-track, lets go back to Breaking Dawn.
The ending was pure crap! "Bella saves the day and they live happily ever after" god that's peachy, ain't it, yeah? Not.

Another thing that annoyed me was how Harry Potter suffered losses. He lost Sirius, James, Lily, Remus, Fred, Hedwig, Mad-Eye, Tonks, Dobby, Dumbledore, and countless others. It was really cheesy, and I felt that Steph skipped over bits she couldn't be bothered to explain, like when Charlie comes to visit Bella after Renesmee was born. Does he know about vampires now? I got really confused. And COME ON, tinted contacts to hide her red eyes? Oh, that's original!!
And also, she kept on introducing bits that she never mentioned before. Like in the Godawful faceoff between the Volturi and other randoms who had NO relevance she said something about how Bella could feel the 'intrusion' of Jane's power pressing against her shield. WHAT?? She'd never mentioned that she was able to feel when she was being attacked, not with Edward or that random Amazonian woman whose name I forget.
And at the end, there's a line that says something like 'the Volturi would never leave without a fight', and then they do.
Also, at the end, Edward tells Bella that the Volturi haven't had a proper fight for twenty-five thousand years, when a few chapters before, Stefan and Vladimir said they'd had a fight with the Volturi fifteen thousand years ago.
And the thing with Alice and Jasper... I didn't get it in the beginning. Did the Cullens think that Alice and Jasper had abandoned them for ever? Or that they'd come back?
Renesmee was pure shite. I completely saw the whole Jacob'sGonnaImprintOnHer thing coming. And the thing is, vampires are DEAD. 'Nessie' is halfhuman, halfvampire. She would either a) not grow at all like the vampires or b) grow at a normal rate like Bella. There is NOT an option c), and this option c) is DEFINITELY NOT 'she grows at an accelerated rate like the werewolves'. I mean, no.
It was an incredible disappointment. I think we'd be hard pushed to find someone who actually loved it. I wish she'd have just kept with the original storyline.
