The parents proboably didn't think it was safe with the lights going on and off, so they went to the next house.
Of course, when the kids were scared, the parents would have to lead them up or get it themselves. Either way, I felt victorious and a little creepy at the time, mostly at myself.neutral

Some refused to go to the doorstep of the house, cause I thought I was going to scare them! Of course, the little kids didn't think that would be a bad idea, but the parents did.

As for the costumes, I remember seeing this little girl in a pig's costumes with two toy windmills in her hands. As she approached the house, she ran down the block and shouted 'WHEEEEE' all the way down.
