Well Guitar Hero will always be the best for guitar.. until possibly the upcoming release which has the same things as Rock Band.

Currently for the market, yes, Rock Band is better technology wise.

The guitar/bass for Rock Band needs work on the strummer, it's difficult to know if you're strumming or not.

The drums are really good, but difficult to learn.

The microphone is good, but once again it's 'singstar-syndrome' with the fact you can just hum. But that won't ever get fixed.

The songs aren't that great for Rock Band, but they're actually pretty good, lacking replay value though.

Overall, Rock Band's better with all the instruments [besides guitar/bass] but Guitar Hero pulls through.

I'd have to say that Guitar Hero's the best, just because of the bad guitar on Rock Band. [The songs don't matter too much]
