The Girl No One's Talking About
Hello, and welcome. This is my first return to Gaia in about one and a half years. Pretty long time to be gone...needless to say, I feel like I've learned a lot in the time I was gone. Hopefully my writing has improved...?
I am a seventeen-year-old high school senior living in sunny California. I'm signed up for a buttload of AP classes next year. I procrastinate like no other. I am in love with music, play two instruments, and sing (though not very well). I'll be going to college in a year. Most of this means that I will not be on 24/7. Do not expect me to be, you will be disappointed. That's all you need to know about my personal life.
I roleplay quite a bit. The first reason is for entertainment - my life is a bit boring, especially without school, and I need something to keep me busy. The second reason is that roleplaying tends to boost my writing skills. I'm getting regular practice without working only with myself (that sounds kind of dirty).
I am literate. I wouldn't be so arrogant as to consider myself a great writer, no matter what my teachers have said, but I am definitely proficient in the English language. I dislike poor spelling, and my friend has called me a grammar Nazi on several occasions. But don't worry, that's only him, because it's too easy to catch him messing up. Other than that, I don't bite (much).
I have a dirty mind, a sarcastic sense of humor, and no time for people who bother me with cliches. Usually I don't care what you throw at me, as long as it's new, interesting, and grammatically correct.
I am opinionated and vocal (online, at least). Speak to me about: Daria (best TV show that MTV ever managed to produce, hands down), Watchmen (either the comic or the movie; I've read/watched and love them both), America today (I just finished taking a class on the myths of America and have quite a bit to say). Mention anime/manga and I'm willing to listen, even if that's not really my fandom any longer. Find a book/series that we both love and I'll be your best friend.
But if you love Twilight, don't even bother speaking to me about it. I won't grudge you for your (questionable) taste in literature, but I'm not going to talk about it. Unless you want a fifty page rant on how much of a rag it is and how horrible a storyteller Stephanie Meyer is.
And no, I don't do the whole "comparing Harry Potter and Twilight" scenario. Just, no. They are two different species, from two different planets, from two different universes. End of story.
