About
This account is based on a character I've made. I guess you could call him a superhero, but I don't think of him that way.
His name is Greg Howahkan, but he is also known as the Gremlin. His father was Sioux indian, and his mother was not.
When he was an infant, his parents went with his older brother to NY. On their way to the airport heading back home, they were caught in the crossfire of a gang war. His grandfather, Kohana, is his only living relative.
When he discovered his parents' fate at about age 5, he was infuriated. You might not ever see an angrier 5-year-old. So he begged his grandfather, and he began learning a secret Native American fighting style.
But it wasn't enough. He needed something else. At age 13, he discovered and used a powerful and forbidden Sioux potion, which turned him into the Gremlin.
His hair and eyes turned jet-black. His skin turned deep, dark green. He got claws on his hands and feet, and his teeth became razor sharp. His senses and emotions were multiplied by 10.
All the while he was in pain greater than any pain most people will ever feel, but even so, he became immediately addicted to the transformation. He would never be able to stop being Gremlin.
He went on a rampage. He destroyed things and hurt people, because he couldn't control his emotions. One man gave him his name in a fit of fear: Gremlin. On the rampage he discovered his new powers. He found that he was possibly more agile than anybody on earth. He discovered that he could change his state of matter, from solid, to liquid, to gas, whenever he pleased.
It used to be he could only make people have emotional breakdowns by looking him in the eyes. He later discovered that the reason for this is because his eyes are "windows" into his soul, and getting a good look at his soul is not a pleasant experience.
He discovered this when he returned from Atheron city, where he had gone to train, to find the medicine man who had given him the forbidden potion. The man taught him about what exactly it does. It gives the person who takes it the power and appearance of their soul on the outside. The effects are different with every person. He helped to hone some of Greg's powers.
The medicine man also helped Greg stumble upon his psychic powers. He learned to hear others' thoughts and to create a barrier around his own mind, to keep intruders out - sometimes for their own good. If a mediocre psychic were to read his mind it would have the same effect as looking into his eyes. Only a very powerful psychic could get through the barrier, and they would probably be prepared for the things they would see. Plus he liked to keep his thoughts to himself whenever possible.
Despite how well he has learned to control them recently, he still wondered whether his abilities were a blessing, or a curse.
