About

The Island of the Sleepy Sands remained quiet and undisturbed as the Sandman slept peacefully. His work schedule is constantly busy, but when he could he would return home and catch up on whatever sleep he missed. Delivering dreams is a full-time and exhausting job, but he took his duties as the Guardian of Dreams seriously! The Sandman loved his job anyway, and enjoyed every moment he was up in that big night sky! During his slumber the male dreamt of new ways to deliver dreams, but he was soon awakened by a cold hand shaking his shoulder. The Sandman stirred in his sleep, and finally woke up once his name was called for the third time. It was Jack! A golden question mark appeared above the Sandman's head as he rubbed his eyes. The boy smiled widely as he spoke of a new believer, and how he brought them here to meet him! The Sandman nodded and got up, following Jack into the next. You stood there in the big room, feeling a little small with how high the ceilings were. You've been wanting to meet the Sandman for a while now, and after spilling the beans to Jack he excitedly told you that you can meet him, right there and now! And off you two went to where the Sandman's island floated. You were excited, if not nervous to finally meet the Guardian of Dreams. And as he stood there entering the room, you couldn't help but smile. The Guardian smiled back sleepily as he waved, and formed a bowler hat in his hands, soon tipping it towards you. Jack Frost went on to introducing him and soon introduced you. The golden male listened to every word, nodding his head more and more. The Sandman soon walked up to his new guest and shook your hand, his glow shining even brighter knowing he's making a new friend. "It is nice to meet you!" he wrote in big golden letters. The letters disappeared once you read them, and the male soon created multiple golden images, trying to explain who he is and what he does. That had Jack Frost laughing, saying you may not understand his 'symbol gibberish'. Alas, the Guardian of Fun may be right, and he stuck to writing out words in swirly golden letters. You chuckled and told the small man he may do what makes him comfortable, and boy did that make his eyes brighten! The Sandman immediately accepted your offer as he went on trying to communicate to you in all sorts of symbols. It took a lot of guessing but with Jack Frost there he was able to help you in figuring out what the Sandman went on about. Unfortunately the three of you only continued the guessing games for an hour before the Sandman had to resume his job. Before leaving, the Sandman turned around and asked you to visit him again some time!

His right foot landed gently upon the grassy surface, followed up by his left. The butler straightened himself, brushing dust off his suit as chunks of brass rained behind him. As much as he had expected for the brass chunks to scatter, he had not taken into account the dreaded *oil spill* that would follow. Try as he might, he was unable to fully dodge in time as the oil came spilling from the skies above. As reminiscent of being hosed by a certain blonde-haired idiot, the butler was immediately splashed by the oncoming oil spill, thus sullying the suit he was wearing.
A deep sigh escaped him. Day by day, humans would always find ways to annoy him. Again, it became part of his unfortunate routine that he had unwillingly accepted at this point.
The butler excused himself as he made his way back to his quarters. Discarding his sullied suit to the basket, he took a shower.
In the middle of his shower, he overheard knocking upon his door. Who could it be this time?
The clumsy maid, Meirin, here to report her findings for the mystery of the plate that grew legs?
The careless gardener, Finny, here to report that instead of utilizing proper fertilizer as instructed, he chose to uproot the rose bush because, and he quotes, 'being rooted in one place all the time would not be mentally healthy for a plant'?
Or would it be the arsonic chef, Bard, here to report that he had discovered a new recipe for black pepper sauce which would most certainly be a hazard for human consumption?
"Please wait a moment," he responded to the knocking, only to be met with silence. Stepping out of the shower, he immediately dressed himself with a new set of attire as water dripped from his hair. Knowing the three idiots, he expected some form of panicking or muttering right about now. However, the visitor remained quiet. Cautiously, the butler reached for the silverwares hidden within his coat pocket before pushing open the do--
Ah.
A familiar face. A face he had not seen since... decades. He let go of the silverwares hidden within his coat before squatting down on one knee in front of the friendly guardian. Words could not describe how the demon was feeling, especially what eventually led them to their last, and rather unexpected rendezvous.
Awestruck? Disbelief?
... Ah. A discomfort in the chest cavity.
"My, it has been a while since we last met, hasn't it, Mr. Sandman?" Quickly regaining his composure, the butler smiled. "I sincerely apologize for my unbecoming appearance. There was an 'accident' earlier, but let us not dwell on it for long."
Taking a step back, he opened his door wider to welcome the guardian into his quarters.
"Please come in, we have much to catch up to, my friend."
Tonight's menu?
A steam airship. Coated in pure brass, humans believed it to be an indestructible contraption. How ridiculously excessive... yet amusing, admittedly. While it would be a shame to dismantle such a fine piece of work, the butler gently tugged upon his pristine white gloves. As reminiscent of a white rabbit in a hurry, the butler swiftly hopped from wall to wall until he landed on the deck on the airship. As a welcome gesture, two men immediately aimed their brass pistol towards the butler. While the young master still has much to learn, Londoners truly are well-versed in the fine art of manners! Feigning helpless, the butler held up his hands, his smile unwavering.
"My deepest apologies, but the incessant humming of your contraption is disrupting the young master's slumber. I ask that you kindly turn around, or else."
"Or else what?"
"You're like a sandy pillow."
