Creativity. smile . I love it. I play music, write poetry, make short films and love photography. Oh and I love to draw.I have been playing flute for 9 years and violin for 3 years. I also LOVE to sing. I haven't ever been in a choir class but I have taught myself.
I don't really know what inspired me to play flute and sing. But I defiantly know what inspired me to play violin. A few years back I went to Karflukifest, this HUGE concert for a Celtic Rock band known as Tempest. Their fiddle player, Michael Mullen, is a fantastic musician and I absolutely loved his performance. Around the grounds there were small booths of merchandise and such. There was a violin one and I went in there to take a look. Michael was in there as well which of course was another reason why I walked in. smile . We were allowed to pick up the violins if we wished so I did exactly that. I picked it up and tried to hold it like I was supposed to. I obviously failed at first because Michael came and showed me how to hold it properly. smile .
From that point on I knew the violin felt right.
I finally started playing in my school's orchestra 3 years ago. I fell in love with it and I was 1st chair by the next year. Crazy huh? There were indeed obstacles that I had to pass. At one point I was having trouble with grades in school and I was so close to not being able to be in the orchestra. But violinists like Patrick Contreras, Lindsey Sterling, Emilie Autumn and of course Michael Mullen constantly reminded me of how much I love the violin and how much I want to become great musicians like them one day.
And I will be some day. smile
