Cheeva Beruvain Report | 02/19/2011 6:50 pm: I think the problem is, a vast majority of the users on this site are out of touch. SF is evidence of this. People simply seem to have no understanding of cost, anymore. I have no idea how or why this happened, but the younger generations seem to have an overwhelming sense of entitlement, coupled with severe ignorance of real world costs and a sense that everything they want will be instantly gratified. Which results in thread like the one in SF. They want everything, now, and exactly the way they want it.

It's a rather sad state of affairs.

The problem is, Cleo never sits back and considers this. Whenever anyone brings up the point that, yes Gaia makes such and such an amount each year yet it is spent, as you point out, on wages and the like, Cleo will never acknowledge that argument. Ever. She is firmly stuck on this one piece of information (that I believe was later revealed the website where the figure was posted, was wrong) that Gaia makes a certain amount each year. And she will, very often, quote this in threads like these. But, yes, she will never acknowledge that that money is not profit, but what the company earns before wages, maintenance, rent, upgrades, contracts, etc. I will be the first to sit back and say I have a tenuous grasp on mathematics - I am a writer and editor through and through, sadly - but even I know the basics of managing a business and the basics of economics. The problem is, many Gaians are quick to overlook the fact that there are HUGE expenses for a business like this, not just Cleo.

It can be immensely frustrating.
