Why must every chat site insist on having a biography? It seems pointless to have people be able to take one glance at your profile and think they know who you are.

Because who you are isn't defined by your experiences. Your past might have been important, but that isn't you. Your face might be a part of your body, but that isn't you, either. Who you are is defined by how you laugh. How you cry. What makes you smile, and what makes you angry. How can you know all those things just by looking at a simplie biography on a chat site?

See, that's the thing. You can't.
If you want to know about me, then talk to me. Treat me like a person instead of just another computer screen.
Is that too much to ask for?
