Shadows overwhelming me,
With control over my heart,
Tearing at the threads that hold me all as one.
My mind focused on the road ahead,
yet dwelling on the past,
Painful memories,
along side of ones that should last.
My heart has been torn and mended over again and again,
and I wonder what could ever bring it back....
Back to the realm of hopes and happiness once more.
My sadness overwhelms me,
and my heart beats slow,
I want to be nearer to someone,
To hold unto like lovers do,

and fall asleep aside.
