I wouldn't call networking an investment. Just professional relationship building. Getting to know the institution and the people in high places. I was sat with the director of funding, a high HIGH level researcher, the director of DEI, and the director of training and development. Blew my mind how supportive they are to literal grunts like myself.
Lol idk about any of all that except I'd like a ps5 with liquid cooling(maybe the pro will have it to some extent). Fans are dumb. I have like no computer setup but my junky work laptop but that's for work lol. Don't game on computers for many....many reasons.
Glad the modem is holding steady! Buying crap can be dangerous lol. I limit myself on the amazon browsing and tool site browsing because...too much crap.
Job is I work for a university. It was a great training. Lots of networking and im feeling inspired. Dunno how long it will last but for now its nice.
Property tax...really doesn't work like that. It depends on your local tax ordinances, state (if applicable), and usually there isn't much federal tax stuff. But to insure property out away from infrastructure is often harder or impossible especially here in California.
Off grid doesn't have to be remote. Just means not reliant on municipal utility services.
Off grid doesn't mean isolated, just detached lol. And a better alternative to hughes.......is...elons satellite internet. Or there's 2 or 3 other companies that do it too. I invested in one cant remember the name tho.

Yeahhh one day I'm going to build (or have built) an extremely sustainable almost off grid house. Ive helped build a couple like stick frame houses (2x4 and plywood) and its....not fun lol. My house will be rammed earth, so fire, earthquake, tornado, lightning, all the disasters proof. 2ft thick walls...green roof for water purification...

You don't grow a forest of mushrooms...you grow the forest to have mushrooms grow in it lol. And not in a location where looky loos and scammers can get your s**t. The bugs and creatures will try to get them yes....but thats why we must get our timing right. To beat them!!!
