Hey everyone! My name is Kendra

I'm 16 years old, and new to this whole Gaia thing--my sister Stormie got me to sign up, and I love it already because I love all of the friends I've made here--ESPECIALLY muh best friend, Zakky.
I absolutely love to sing, draw, and write--I'm hope to ship off to the Musician's Institute in Hollywood after graduation to pursue a career in the thing I love most!
I'm in a band currently, also: Bury Them Alive.
Not only am I the only girl in a band of five, but I'm the lead singer--it draws attention *laughs*
I'm a vegetarian, and have been for many many years--MEAT SUCKS!
I love little animals ^.^
That's why I could never eat anything that used to have a face.
And don't try the argument that almost everyone goes for--"Oh, it's always been that way! Stop complaining!"
Here's a wild idea: Question reality. Just because it’s “always been that way” doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do. Because, maybe it's new news to you, but we're supposedly such an advanced culture these days, right? We don't NEED to have all of the cruelty for survival anymore. Back in the caveman days, yah, it was necessary. Not anymore. These days, it's for fashion and other selfish reasons.
Since when do you NEED to walk around wearing rabbits' or any other animals' fur on your feet or dragging down to the floor from your back to survive? Never. So why do people continue to do it?
There are SO many alternatives to real fur out there--why not use THOSE, instead of painfully murdering innocent animals? The cruelty of their deaths is unimaginable--
electrocution and drowning among only a few of the "deaths of choice" for the innocent rabbits used to make Donna Karan's clothing. So why would someone choose to continue this, KNOWING the pain that the animals endure, and KNOWING all of the other options before you? When does the ignorance stop being tolerated? For me, it never began to be.
And why go blind to the extreme cruelty of the conditions that the animals that you consume both lived and died under? They TORTURE them. They rip off the beaks of chickens and pluck all of their feathers--WHILE they're still alive--at KFC.
How can you enjoy a meal there knowing that?
And did you know that Lowe's is one of the few places which--fully aware of the torture that animals captured in glue traps endure--continues to sell them with absolutely no remorse?
PETA has presented Lowe's with graphic photos and video footage of small animals, including birds, who suffered painful injuries and died lingering deaths after being ensnared by the cruel traps. But so far, none of this--nor the fact that CVS, Rite Aid, Albertsons, and Safeway have banned glue traps because they are so cruel--has persuaded Lowe's to do the right thing and get rid of them once and for all.
No animal deserves such horrible treatments--would you let someone treat that puppy in the picture with me the same way that you've supported letting that poor cow or pig that's on your plate right now be treated? Face facts and own up: MEAT IS MURDER AND FUR IS DEAD!

I'm a rock-lover, born and bred. My momma brought me up on artists like Queen, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Duran Duran, The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and ZZ Top.
My big cousin, Aaron, was my hardcore/punk influence--The Misfits, AFI, The Sex Pistols, Billy Idol, The Adicts, Bad Brains, Black Flag, Blondie, Nirvana, The Clash, and Joan Jett were in my system from the time I could crawl.
And my mom's ex-fiance, Buddy, had a son named Bubba--AKA, the one who introduced me to the world of metal, hair metal, and hard rock at age 6. He taught me about Pantera, Hanoi Rocks, Metallica, Motley Crue, Guns N' Roses, Twisted Sister, L.A. Guns, KISS, Angel, Faster Pussycat, Ratt, Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne, Def Leppard, New York Dolls, and Van Halen. He also introduced me to The Crow, one of my all-time favorite movies.
Needless to say, they're largely responsible for the way I've turned out *laughs*
And, of course, being as deep in to the rock world as I became, I introduced myself to a wide variety of sub-genres. Emo, screamo, death metal, goth-rock, and may others have been added in to my arsenal.
I listen to music from EVERY genre, though, believe it or not--I love stuff I can dance to.
I give everyone a chance, though. Stereotypes just ain't my thing. If someone seems cool, and they don't act like I'm some freak of nature, then we can be friends!
But, due to the fact that I grew up in a dysfunctional household--seeing how my father ran out on me...three times--I have some trust issues that I just can't get rid of, so it takes a while to fully earn it. I don't just hand it out to the world.

If we could shrink the Earth's population down, to a town of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, there would be: 57 Asians. 21 Europeans. 14 from the Western Hemisphere. 8 Africans. 52 Females. 48 Males. 70 Non-whites. 30 Whites. 70 Non Christians. 30 Christians. 89 Heterosexuals. 11 Homosexuals.
59% of the entire world's wealth, would be in the hands of only 6 people. And those 6 are citizens of the US. 80 would live in substandard living conditions. 70 would be unable to read. 50 would suffer from malnutrition. 1 would be near death. 1 would be near birth. 1 would have a college education. 1 would own a computer.
So, when one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the need for both acceptance and understanding becomes glaringly apparent, doesn't it?
