- I am German. "Waechter der Nacht" is German and means "Nochnoy dozor" or Night Watch. It is a novel written by Sergey Lukyanenko. There is also a second, 3rd and 4th book. I did not watch the movies though - but I love the books. Warning: They are no mainstream fantasy books. They are actually interesting, funny, thrilling and mysterious.
