About
Hrm...Where to start? Well, I'm in high school and I'm a straight A student. I would love that fact so much more if I knew what to do in the future >.>I'm an easy-going person, and usually pretty easy to get along with. However I love chocolate, so I may scare you sometimes when I'm hyper...*nervous laugh*
Er...I'm really not sure what else to put up, since a quick look at my interest tags can give you a pretty good idea of what I like, but you can always feel free to message me if you wanna talk! ^-^

Anyway, the culture is a bit different here and guns are a little bit harder to get and most criminals don't carry them, also there's a historic element that the police here have never carried guns. Seeing a constable walking along in his funny hat, without any obvious sort of weapon was supposed to make Joe Public think that all was all. Once again, historically, the army used to be called in to enforce the law and they were rather heavy handed, so when the police were formed, they weren't given any weapons (other than the truncheon) and were clothed in a manner similar too the more popular navy, which is why police wear blue. =3
Today in the UK an officer will have PPE (or personal protective equipment) in the form of an extending steel baton, a can of incapacitating spray, hand cuffs and a stab proof vest which has to be worn at all times. Also he has his radio to cry for help over. Should there need to be an armed presence, all forces have dedicated firearm units who are always on call.
Recently, alot of forces have started to consider using the tazer, so we might see that in a few years. Anyway, pardon my police rambling. I'm taking a degree in Police Sciences so I have to know this stuff anyway! Also a Special Constable is like.. A part time volunteer officer, you probably call them reserves or something over there. I'd like to work for them full time, but you know.. Being a student and all.
But yes. Ramble ramble ramble. ¬_¬
And I'm sorry to hear about your friend, hopefully he'll enjoy the absence of spectacles! Obviously different forces in different countries do things very differently, so I couldn't really say. I mean.. Here in the UK the police don't carry guns for instance. And wear that oh-so-distinctive hat. =3 And I'm sure you would be fiiiine if you were to give it a go. Would you ever consider a career in Law Enforcement? Maybe not in a direct role but perhaps something else? Everyone wants to be a forensic scientist or a profiler these days!
And when I say shared interests I just mean films and stuff, no worries! I might be out of touch with the youth of today but hopefully not so much that I'm totally alienated at just nineteen! D=
What time is it over there? O_o
And I'm fine thankyou, I was a bit of a sad panda yesterday but now I'm fiiine. Work was totally dead so I lots of time to better myself, so I learned the police's phonetic alphabet. All day I was shuffling around mutter "Hotel, Echo, Lima, Lima, Oscar", spelling out everything I could see.
I would say more, but I don't know what else to add! D= Put some stuff in your profile so that we might strike up conversation over shared interests! =D
AHAHA! No, no, that is most crude and ungentlemanly, I do apologise. -_-
Anyway, welcome back to Gaia? I saw your introduction post and you seemed rather friendly so I thought I'd say hello, as it's always nice to see you have a profile comment. =3
How be thee?
