About

Poking around my account again after SEVERAL YEARS of absence. Like...a lot. Seriously, you guys, I'm old now. I'm the age of some of the "old" people I started talking to on Gaia when I first started as like...a pre-teen. Christ.

Anyway, lots of things have happened in life, I've changed, Gaia has changed, the world turns...as it should be.

Very brief note of personal Gaia history for really just any old friends on my list, since I'm sure my presence has been buried by now: I used to run a chat thread called Miss Eley's Pie Shop that was spotlighted at one point and had several regulars; if anyone remembers me, it will be from that, though I've gone through a couple name changes now. But, old Gaia friends, if you log in and wonder who this is...it's used-to-be-Eley. heart

I HAVE STARTED A NEW HOME BASE CHAT, REALLY TRYING TO STICK AROUND THIS TIME, PLEASE JOIN ME OVER THERE!: No Frills Friends Chat

Not bad not bad, just put some subwoofers in my little Civic. <3 lol how's 2025 for you so far? Also, nah, they left me hanging so long that I just plugged it back up myself and they never checked up on me. =[

Oh wow, you got way more than we did. We got about 3 or 4 inches that kinda just melted and turned into a white crust for the last few weeks.
Lol Technically no... Waited a week and they replaced the line, then it melted, then we waited another week and they came but left because they needed a pole line man, he never came so we just attached a new line and so far it hasn't melted. After five calls from us and no calls back from them we gave up.

You go through the motions. What makes it worse was it was not planned for that day. We had intended on having him a bit longer--but it was decided. On the outside, I'm okay--but mentally, you're seeing everything associated with him, and where he has been. It gets easier with each passing day, but it's a very existential feeling. But ultimately, I am happy he is free from health problems now.

He was probably north of 20+. We didn't have him as a pup; my grandma did and I knew him as far back as '06. We didn't officially adopt him until the closer end of 2020. He was just as energetic until his final years, where he essentially was getting less healthy as a senior. This last Monday, we made the call to allow him to go 'ahead' of us. I swear, it was the biggest gut punch and hardest thing to take in that I ended up taking the whole week off.

Ha, wow--congrats on entering the parental workforce! I'm not really looking forward to the months ahead--because that means one of my family dogs is nearing the end of his career. :/

Not cool so far, It's like 18 degrees and snow everywhere, ANNNND the snow broke my home internet and the cable company won't be here til the weekend. =[ It's times like these that make me wonder how we survived the 90's, it's sooooooo boring when half your house doesn't work because it's internetless. I miss hot balls, I always take hot balls for granted. Did you guys get snow??

Oh, lol--believe me... the age hits you when you start watching movies and you go from relating to the young characters, to the older ones. Or every movie, you automatically begin extrapolating some kind of motivation to change up what you're doing now, even though the whole point was escapism. What's been good on your end, aside from the foreign body noises of age? lol

It's smooth sailing from here on out, for at least 11 months. =] Now if only Ohio wasn't so cold...

I thought I did. Every now and then, I log in just to remind myself how old I've gotten. I saw The Shawshank Redemption for like the millionth time, and man has Brooks really become so relatable... minus the suicide part of course.
