We're still best friends, and the whole thing was really civil. It just sucks, because we spent half our lives together. 14 years is a lot of memories, inside jokes, habits, and little things to let go of.... It's been really rough for me. I'm still having a hard time processing it. I'm wanting to get a second part time job for 2 days a week... But I'm so exhausted as it is, I don't know if I can handle it. I've found myself wanting to just drown myself in work to keep busy.

Lol. So...

The guy I was with for 14 years and I broke up on Christmas Eve. I moved out January 11th, moved in with my mom to help support her and my 14 year old sister, since mom's falling apart. Got a job in less than a month of searching. I'm a behavioral health technician at a drug and alcohol detox and recovery facility. I'm a medical and essential worker, but getting paid $12 an hour, and getting no hazard pay, or compensation. I work 12 hour night shifts 3 nights a week. The house we're in right now is a tiny 2 bedroom house.... Literally sharing my mom's bedroom and bed with her... She's working on getting disability, so we can afford a 3 bedroom house. My checks cover rent, and the phone bill, and my credit cards. Things are just... Crazy. And covid on top of it is not helping... And now hurricane season in Florida. @__@
