This entry is about a great teacher..
Mrs. Holloway

April Fool's Day is not a happy day for me anymore. She had the worst lung cancer any person could get. Her husband died in the hospital about 12 years ago, so she vowed that she wouldn't go to the doctor because she didn't want end up like her husband. After that happened, she had nothing left except her son who moved out a few years later. Gradually, teaching started to become her life, so she treating her students and the other teachers like her family. People in her classes would sometimes treat her like crap but she didn't stop loving us and caring for us. She worried about our futures and she gave us lectures so that we would be prepared for 8th grade, high school, and so on. I will admit her lectures were great and were very helpful for us. Sometimes when there's a basketball game, she would stay in her classroom working and preparing for hours just for us. Two weeks ago, she told all of her classes that she would visit the doctor for a couple of days. We didn't realize that she was afraid and it was painful for her. All we thought of was, "It's no big deal, all teachers go to the doctor once in a while." But a week and a half later, she wasn't there. When we found out that she passed away, the 7th graders and 8th graders who had her as a teacher, grieved and were saddened. some people held their tears in and some couldn't handle it and started to cry. I was in shock, waiting for someone to tell me that it was just a cruel joke. I waited, but nobody said it was an April Fool's day joke. All that stopped me from crying was thinking that she was in a better place now. "She's in heaven and Mr. Holloway is there with her," I thought. That still didn't stop me from wanting to see her and talk to her one last time. Everyone did and expected her to wait in the class and when she saw us she would smile and start teaching. She lived each day to the fullest and was happy all the time. She cared for us more than she cared about herself. We will always miss you and remember you, Mrs. Holloway. R.I.P.
