10-18-10--Late news is late--pick up the 10th Anniversary Mew via Wi-Fi from now until October 30th!
9-29-10--Nintendo announced the official price of their next handheld, the 3DS, today, as well as the official release date. The official date (for Japan) will be February 26th, and the rumor is all other countries will get it a month or so later, in late March to early April. The price in Japan will be 25,000 Yen, which translates to roughly $298. Read more info at Kotaku.

So, tl;dr: IF YOU ONLY HAVE A DSi OR DSi XL, YOU CANNOT PLAY B&W BECAUSE THE GAME IS REGION LOCKED ON THOSE SYSTEMS. REGULAR DS SYSTEMS AND DS LITES CAN PLAY THE GAME FINE, BUT ANY i SYSTEM THAT IS NOT JAPANESE CANNOT.

You're misunderstanding.

9-16-10--There's obviously been some early releases of Black and White, because Serebii has TONS of leaked information, including a LOT of new Pokemon! Go check it out!
9-8-10--Prestigious Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu gave Black and White a perfect 40/40 score. Compare that to HGSS's 37/40, and to the fact that only 14 games have received a perfect score in the history of the magazine. This is a very big honor for the games, and a testament to how hard Game Freak worked to refresh the series.
9-1-10-- UPDATE-TO-AN-UPDATE: Were possibly confirmed real. No one knows anymore. xd UPDATE: Were confirmed fake. Serebii has some new trailers for Black and White, as well as the UNCONFIRMED possible evolutionary lines of the Starters. Check them out if you like~
8-22-10--This coming Saturday marks this thread's one-year anniversary, so all this week is our Threadaversary Week! What will happen? Who knows! Maybe Sakura will do a Pokemon giveaway....see the "Thread Events" section for details, and stick around all week to find out how you can win!
8-5-10--I know some of the HGSS regs imported when it was only out in Japan, so they have Japanese copies of the games and will be able to download the Manaphy that will be distributed over Wi-Fi later this month. I'll update the Events section later today.
7-30-10--Six minute long trailer for B&W is out, and it reveals a plethora of information. There are probably several places to see it, but I personally checked it out at Kotaku.. Go and be amazed!
7-27-10--Enigma Stone Download starts Saturday (my birthday! :'D) and will run until August 27th.
7-22-10--It's not 100% confirmed, but that shape is pretty suspicious of a Luvdisc evo, wouldn't you say? >w>
7-20-10--Sorry the News hasn't been updated in a while; been lazy busy (I blame the summer heat). If you're been keeping up with Serebii, I'm sure you've seen all the Pokemon reveals and stuff, so I won't get into that. Keep an eye on the Thread Events section; very soon, the HGSS thread is going to be hosting a contest in honor of its 1st Anniversary, so stay tuned.
6-28-10--Would've posted this earlier, but I was lazy. xd You can download Jirachi via Wi-Fi from now until July 16th. This is the same Jirachi distributed a few months ago at GameStop, and it unlocks the Night Sky's Edge PokeWalker course. Also of note, Pokemon Sunday this week revealed a slew of new Pokemon as well as some new game mechanics, including 3-on-3 battling. You can check it all out at Serebii.
6-25-10--Don't forget to download the Winner's Path PokeWalker path if you haven't already! The Wi-Fi distribution ends Friday, June 25th. After this, there are currently no announced Wi-Fi events for the US. Wonder if that'll change....
6-11-10--Serebii has a plethora of new Pokemon leaked from July's CoroCoro--GO LOOK NOW! 8D
5-28-10--Pokemon.com launched the Black & White official site today, and it included a nice surprise: our first look at these games' legendaries, Reshiram and Zekrom. Check it out if you have some time.
5-6-10--The Winner's Path PokeWalker course can be downloaded starting today, May 6th, until June 25th. The Pokemon on the route have some really rare moves, including Selfdestructing Munchlaxes and Level 5 Beldums with more moves than just Take Down. Go get it!
4-9-10--The titles for the Generation V games coming out at the end of this year are Pokemon Black and Pokemon White. That's really all there is to it at this point, but you can check out the logos at Serebii.net.
4-5-10--If your PokeWalker is lost, stolen, broken, or otherwise, you can purchase a new one
from Nintendo. Isn't that nice? Edit: The link no longer works. I'll work on updating it soon.
3-28-10--The game is out in most of the UK (barring a few delays in some areas, sorry! :C), and most people in the US have long-since beaten the game. But don't forget that the Yellow Forest PokeWalker Event starts April 1st!
3-14-10--Launch day for the US has finally arrived! I hope everyone was able to get their games okay, and is enjoying their new adventure in Johto. ^_^ Cheer up, UK players; you'll have your games soon enough. Sorry you have to wait. *pats*
3-12-10--Launch day is almost here! Are you ready for it?
3-2-10--Apparently, GameStop/Nintendo didn't anticipate how many figures they'd need for preorders. It started with the bonus figure disappearing from GameStop's order page for SS. A day later, the Ho-oh figure disappeared as well. Reports that people's figures are on back-order are coming in. According to GameStop, if you ordered your game -before- Feb 27th, you'll get a figure. Afterwards...it's unknown if you'll just not get a figure or have to wait for another shipment. In other words, get to your local store early to get your figure!
2-2-10--With more news coming out about the English launch, we've learned the names of key characters, items, and other things. Also important to note: the slot machines have been removed from the Game Corner in all versions outside of Japan. The slots game has been replaced with a different game called Voltorb Flip. Read about it here on Bulbapedia.
1-29-10--The Official Japanese Website has a special announcement from Game Freak Director Junichi Masuda that a new RPG series is being made for the DS and will be released in Japan sometime in 2010. This game will have new Pokemon. FIFTH GENNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!! 8D
1-27-10--Serebii confirms the Edge of the Night's Sky Jirachi will be given out at GameStop in February! Check the Events Section for the date.
1-11-10--According to the latest buzz on Serebii, the possible release for the Event Shiny Pichu (Pikachu-Colored Pichu) is the end of this month. Check Events Section for date.
1-6-10--There's a buzz floating around the major Pokemon news sites concerning some ads for 13th movie paraphernalia. The two ads in question (one for sticker sets and one for toy Pokeball projectors [incidentally, WANT]) have notes telling what's included in the set, including a note saying, "A Pokemon to be revealed in the film." Question is, is this 5th Gen buzz (FINALLY), or is this just new formes of preexisting Pokemon? The mind boggles!
12-15-09--Pokemon.com lists the March 14th date and gives us some translated screens! This confirms that we're getting HGSS on Pi Day! <3
12-10-09--Amazon.com lists the release date as March 14, 2010. Earlier than the April 1st date, could this be the release date we've been waiting for?
9-15-09--HG/SS sold 1.5 million copies in it's opening weekend, surpassing Platinum's record of 1 million!
9-11-09--Movie 12 title announced (Arceus and the Jewel of Life) on Pokemon.com. No news on release or release of event Pokemon yet. Also, launch day in Japan today.
8-28-09--The games come out September 12th in Japan and Spring 2010 in the US.
