June, Ecruteak City Gym
It has been a long time since I've left my gym, and even longer since a worthy opponent has shown up on my door step. So I decided to take a walk to my favorite place to think. And that would be the burned tower.
Most of the time the Burned Tower is deserted. You have to be crazy to go there. But this time was different. I found Jasmine there, and she told me about her plan to train some of her pokemon here. There are a lot of fire type pokemon in the Burned Tower, and that would help her train her steel type pokemon, she said.
I offered to battle with her and she accepted. We battled right there in the Burned Tower, careful not to be too rough. She of course chose her Steelix, and I sent out my Gengar. Poison type pokemon are at a disadvantage against steel, because they have no effect, but I was confident in my abilities as a trainer.
She used Rock slide as her first move and I ordered Gengar to put Steelix to sleep with Hypnosis. Jasmine could do nothing but watch as my Gengar used Dream Eater and Nightmare.
After the battle (I won of course) she thanked me and told me that she was going to work on a counter strategy against sleep inducing attacks. But we'll see if she succeeds. It was a nice change of pace to battle a fellow Gym Leader for once. Now if only aspiring trainers were more like Jasmine, I wouldn't be so bored all the time.
