August the 4, in the year of the lord, 2008
I didn't see them until they came out of the darkness and surrounded me. At first, I thought they were random thugs trying to mug me, but I had never heard of any thugs being THIS coordinated, so I decided that they knew what I was and what I had. As the first one lunged at me, a shadow darker then the night shot out and sweeped him off his feet and threw him back ten feet. As it did that, the next one came, and before he could take three steps I had my mouth at his throat, draining his life.
After that, it was a blur of red and black, and in the end, nothing alive was around me. At least twelve bodies layed around me, most dead, but a few only unconcious. I took one last look and walked away, knowing that this would probably not be the last I saw of them.
