I wept a river, in the dead of night

Even though it was a short-time last
I wouldn't change the story of how we met
Nor change the place where we slept

And I love to say that you were mine
I can't believe I was too blind not to see what's true
But there was nothing I wouldn't do for you
I'll never forget you and your face
With all it's quirks that I could trace
And I bet on a bright and shinning star
That my memories of you won't go far

Because you taught me when we first met
