When it comes to the month of March the first thing that pop into our heads when it comes to Gaia events is the Gaian Annual Ball that is hosted by users like you and me each year. Is not such a big celebration but it has been part of the Gaia regular events agenda, sadly this year it appeared that there was no ball or if there was one it wasn't advertised very well because I saw no topics discussing it ANYWHERE nor I saw advertising signatures which are very common when the event approaches. So in my book there was no Annual Ball.
However we had a couple of events that we didn't expected to see:
The first involved the upcoming movie ''The Last Mimzy'', Gaia was sponsoring it here on the website and even made a mini-quest (if it can really be considered a quest xp ) hosted by none other than:
Mimzy itself. xd The so called quest consisted of going to this little guy's profile (go to memberlist and type [GAIA] Mimzy to find it) and watch the trailer of the movie which premiered on March 22. After seeing the whole trailer, which I found boring xp a link suddenly popped out below the screen leading you to another link you clicked to get the quest prize:
That's right, the Mimzy plushie given by Rina herself. We could do the quest up to three times and a fourth time during the premiere day, I am not sure if this quest is permanent or it will only stay for a while but I got my dolls. Seriously Gaia we need real quests, how long do we have to wait? gonk I mean, can't remember how long did we waited since the newbie quest was released, now we will probably have to wait even longer for another quest. I rather wait another year and get a choice on several quests, I didn't even watched the movie and don't plan to but I got free stuff so thanks Gaia. biggrin
Now on to the other event. Gaia celebrated Saint Patrick's Day, something that in the past was never done before, well it was but the hosters were regular users who made their own events which don't count for me. I suppose the petitions to have an event for this were a great deal because the only events Gaia used to celebrate were the international or most celebrated by the world ones like Christmas and Halloween. Let's see if they do a Thanks Giving event this year since users have been asking for one as well, in fact let's have a Cinco de Mayo event or a Hispanic Heritage Month event since I am Hispanic. xd
It wasn't a huge event though, it consisted of just doing what we usually do on Gaia and once in a while randomly we got the rare event !icon telling us we had an event in our pages:
There were three messages but the item was the same, a 4 leaf clover which was a game item. What can we do with a clover? We could trade the ones we got for event items:
2 clovers = 4 leaf clover pin 4 clovers = Lucky 4 leaf clover 6 clovers = Floppy Clover

To be able to get a decent amount of them we were required to be lucky, have a lot of patience and be VERY active. Sometimes it seems like hours before I could get one, in the end I managed to get all 3 items naturally plus 92 extra clovers which I rather keep in my inventory. xp
We could also go to Gaia Towns and move around getting 3 leaf clovers or shamrocks which are considered unlucky (I am not Irish, so I wonder why xp ) but we couldn't trade those for anything, however we could sell them back to the sotres for 3 gold each or the marketplace for higher profits. Unfortunately the towns didn't worked for most of us during the event so we couldn't get any, the good news is that after the event the towns surprisingly worked and there were still shamrocks all over the place. eek So I went shamrock hunting and got 730 shamrocks, not bad for the extra time the event was around. I am not sure if this was an accident or the staff decided to extend it because of what happened but I thank them anyways for giving us the chance. 3nodding
That was basically all for this month that is worth mentioning, now we can count with more events since St. Patrick's Day is now celebrated on Gaia and hopefully more will be in the future as well. blaugh
The remaining features now:
- Monthly item update: The Elegant Set was released, a set based on the clothings of the French Revolution. Is the most expensive set up to this date, and there was a lot of controversy when users favored it for being a gold sink meaning that the inflation would be halted temporarily. Others found it as an outrage because of the high prices, but they will all get over it. cool
- The Gift Giving and Item Arranger systems were updated, making them better and easier to use for all of us.
- Housing Update: Now with the Egyptian Set, for those who love the age of the mummies and pharaohs.
- Gaia Mobile Downloadables: So you can carry a piece of Gaia with you anywhere.
- The March items were released: The choice of the Mythic Hair and the Spirit Falcon. For the first time everthe letters didn't inflated after they opened, they deflated, I feel sorry for the investors who got tons of them. I guess a lot of people didn't liked the new items, better for me since I get them with my gold. mrgreen
- And finally the comics for this month, it should be weekly but there were only two for this month:
Maybe they should change their name to simply ''Comics'' since there are weeks were we get none. xp
Another month gone and another one that begins, see you soon! blaugh
