My father was a woodland spirit, his name was Torwen. As all woodland spirits he had the ability to become a tree when he willed and return to a human form when he wished. He lived normally in a very lush and green forest, he was very content where he was and rarely traveled. So anything uncommon in the forest was sometimes new to him. One night as he rested in his Grand Oak form my mother came to rest beside him.
Come morning she was still there and so curious he returned to his human form. When my mother awake she was greatly startled to find herself resting against a man.
My fathers clothing consisted of a moss like skirt over his dark mahogany colored skin, with brown hair and eyes. And here was my mother with her long black hair, fair skin and dark clothing. She was the most unusual thing he had ever seen, but he was undoubtedly attracted to her pure green eyes that reminded him off his loving forest. She told him of the crow and her jewel that she was in search of. He knew it would be a long hunt when she explained that an emerald was green.
