A couple of nights ago I went to this restaurant, with a nostalgia theme, filled with old pics, dating back to 1820, it was inspiring, I visited the last execution by shooting ever done in my country before death penalty was abolished, a farmer who had killed a member of his family, In the picture he was speaking with a priest, minutes before the execution, then I moved in time and witnessed how the very first bridge on my city was built, places that now are filled with street vendors, bums, whores and thieves, those placed shined in their former glory in the old city center, I actually witnessed the miracle that some people used to call "fish rain", the fish actually fell from the sky due some underwater geyser, to be able to be eye to eye with the forgers of the actual democracy, those who died on the revolution,
It simply cannot be further explained, it has to be lived, one thing is see those pics in a book or in a site and completely another experience to see the full-size originals, all battered in time, some dirty or tore, but it's state only adds to the romance of the old, a somewhat golden glory, it was awe inspiring, and makes you think about, how much we have lost as a country, as a society, everyone here complains how we became a what the media, wants us to be, but it's not that, we just forgot who we are, we forgot the time when people fought for ideals, when men defined themselves by their actions, back then people had character, Ideals, dreams, we seem to have exchanged that for a franchise on the new world...
