Welcome to the shadowed corners of my mind...
On Purifying Homunculi.
I have studied the effects of the Animus Eximo on homunculi... and it is quite strange. It seems that as homunculi with the taint have only reflections of souls that would go to the Other Side, but are held in limbo, as they are rooted inside of the gate. The force of the alchemization of human life creates the body, and thus the body requires a soul to function, or a consciousness. So they only have what I call a "shadow soul", or a fragment of a soul meant to go to the opposing side of the Gate. Instead, as the shadow is placed into a body on our side, the true soul is stuck inside of the Gate: in limbo. This is why tainted homunculi are usually unpleasant in nature, because they feel their lack of soul, and usually causes any unpleasant feelings to fester. Now, once a homunculus is purified, the full soul is placed into the body. They were still destined for the other side of the Gate, but since they are complete, they do not have what I have referred to as "the thirst". Tainted homunculi have the thirst, because it's the best they can do to complete their soul: feeding on the life force of others. Instead of genuinely completing it, it only sustains the shadow soul they have. A cleansed homunculi would basically be the same, only the reason they lived in deep-rooted emotional/mental anguish is gone. So they tend to be more pleasant. They are still unnatural and non-native to our half of the Gate. If homunculi had lifespans, they would be relatively transient. But, due to the nature of their bodies, they can live indefinately, virtually. There are, however exceptions to this, such as in the homunculus Pride.

... That was seriously interesting.

I guess you're right... But I don't watch the series enough to say much more, only that you've held my attention for a minute or two.

Though this is an old entry, I must say that it was worth my time reading it. You should have more entries like this. Fascinating to read. ^^

You're a rather peculiar individual, but considering you're a fellow ENTP, I am simply stating what you, of course, already know. o.o
What you MAY not know though is that you'd probably enjoy Anne Rice's Memnoch The Devil, as well as Ama Ata Aidoo's book, Sister Killjoy. They are my favorite two books and we might could have interesting DEBATES, discussions, and muse over the content, etc. as well as reflect upon society. To some extent, I'm starved for intellectual conversations. That is all. *shrug*

Much peace to you.
