READ ME IT IS PART OF MY AWESOME STORY!^_^
SUPERGIRL

" When he saw her face, he thought that nothing could go wrong, 'Cause even superman falls to his knees beggin please, please, please..."

The music faded into Ali's ear. A giggle then two erupted from behind Ali, whirling around the two girls were silenced by the intense glare that Ali was sending from her gray eyes. Their smirks were whipped off of their petty little faces as they quickly scurried off to bother another "loser". Ali stalked off; her auburn hair was whipping behind her in a high ponytail. Heading to the arcade Ali jumped onto the only open DDR mat.

"Everytime we touch I get this feeling..." Ali danced her heart out; her emotions lent her strength as she pounded away on the mat. The fast paced music swirled her up and took her farther and farther away from reality. Then with an abrupt stop Ali was dropped back into the world where she was wearing a Superman shirt and baggy jeans and was at boarding school. Panting Ali grabbed her bag and pushed her way through a crowed of people to the exit.

A shadowed, tall figure set down his mug of beer and staggered after Ali. Trailing behind her and keeping out of sight.

Derick watched as the drunk followed Ali, taking one more sip from his coke he set it aside and went to see what would unfold between the drunk and the girl.

Ali stepped into the black of night; careful she treaded her way in between the trashcans and came upon a deserted sidewalk. Then a crash, the lumbering feet of a drunk and then Ali took off. She knew, from living in New York, that the lumbering feet in the night meant that a drunk was coming and you want to get away and fast. But as she sped up the lumbering stride quickened too, and a sixteen year old might have a chance to outrun a drunk thirty year old. But she just couldn't run fast enough away and as the footsteps approached her she spun around putting up one last defense but then...

She tripped. Her body slowly collided against the cold pavement and her head smacked the curb but thankful it only knocked her out.

Derick jogged to keep up with the drunk but before Derick could interfere he saw Ali trip then hit the ground. But before the drunk could get his defiled breath on Ali he grabbed both of his hands and pulled his arm out of the socket. A scream echoed in the night, Derick let go of the drunk and he dashed off into a dark alley.

Kneeling down he checked Ali’s pulse, thump, thump, he sighed she was still alive. Wrapping her up in his coat he gently placed her on a park bench.

Ali was running, she tripped and stumbled behind a garbage can. Peaking out she saw cigarette butts, a soccer ball, and…wait a soccer ball? On closer inspection Ali saw that the name Kevin was scrawled in messy black permanent marker. Kevin…. wait that was her younger brother’s ball. Then the truth hit Ali like a sledgehammer, it was her worse nightmare. Looking out farther past the soccer ball Ali saw Kevin, her younger brother by six years, being held at gunpoint. Kevin was glaring at the gang members. A shot, the drip, drip of blood, and a thump of a body hitting the ground. Ali’s hand covered her mouth from letting a scream escape.
The staring eyes of her brothers met hers and tears leaked from her eyes, his eyes seemed to ask if you were their then why didn’t you help me?
Suddenly she was jerked back to reality. Looking up she saw stars, tons of them filling the black sky. Her breath came up as white puffs of clouds, wrapped around her was a coat and next to her was something. No, someone, the puff of smoke escaped and the glowing red of a tip of a cigarette light up the air around him. His tousled brown hair moved slightly in the nighttime wind. Ali moved slightly but the pounding in her head prevented her from sitting up. She moaned, then a voice, calm as day asked,
“So you’re ok? From the moan your head still hurts? And since you aren’t standing up and screaming at me you don’t feel alright.” Ali nodded, wondering why this stranger had helped her and why she was laying on a park bench for heaven sakes.
As if he had heard her thoughts he responded,
“I put you here because you might have freaked if I brought you to my apartment. And it looked like that drunk wasn’t going to leave you along.” But Ali heard something in his voice that she couldn’t trust. Slowly she edged away from the stranger but strangely he kept on talking in his calm way,
“Oh, by the way my name is Derick what’s your name?” A pause and an awkward silence.
“Ali, Ali Shwan.” Was all that Ali said.
