What's your favorite female characters in films that you felt were done well?
I wouldn’t be surprise if some of these characters appear on most people’s favorite list too. The majority of them I choose because I can still remember being a young girl and watching in awe at seeing such a awesome female character on the big screen.
They were all memorable, well written/developed or ‘strong’–which can come in many forms. This isn’t in any particular order and I’m not gonna list every single one either…
Ellen Ripley – Alien (1979), Aliens (1986), Alien 3 (1992) and Alien: Resurrection (1997)
Sarah Connor – The Terminator (1984) and Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)
Matilda Wormwood – Matilda (1996)
Esmerelda – The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996)
Fa Mulan – Mulan. For some reason GaiaOnline doesn't want to show the the date properly when I'm trying to specify that it's the animated film. But I guess that censorship is because of China.
Evelyn O'Connell (née Carnahan) – The Mummy (1999), The Mummy Returns (2001)
Yu Shu Lien – Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000)
Elle Woods – Legally Blonde (2001) & Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde (2003)
Hermione Granger – Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001), etc.
Peggy Carter – Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) and Agent Carter (2015)
