I don't really believe in luck, but I'm starting to wonder if "bad luck" is real. I brought home a lot of meat after I went fishing with Regal and Lloyd, and Raine's been busy studying the flower that I brought home from Derris Kharlan and the Ymir Fruit that I got her before that. I know the two seem completely unrelated, but I promise they coincide, and it's all bad for me.
The Ymir Fruit has healing properties, which I thought Raine would use to help create a new healing arte, and the flower has the ability to slow the aging process of living organisms, though only slightly. Raine had the bright idea of combining the two as ingredients in a new recipe that she recently created. I knew nothing about this "secret recipe", otherwise I would have tried to stop her, and guess what? The main ingredient in her recipe is fish! Somehow, I managed to get her everything she needed to make a horrifying new dish, and she couldn't wait for me to try it when it was done.
I can confidently say that the taste of her cooking hasn't improved at all, but the Ymir Fruit combined with the flower kept me from getting poisoned this time. I guess her cooking technically isn't deadly now, thanks to these ingredients, but it doesn't make it any easier to eat it. The worst part is that she managed to get seeds from the flower and the fruit, so she plans to grow the ingredients herself and keep practicing this recipe until she gets it right. I can't believe I brought her almost everything she needed for that recipe. I wish she'd pick up another hobby. Raine's good at a lot of things, but cooking just isn't one of them.
