Chapter 17:

A few days pass and Bulma needed a break from the new armor she was making. So far she had finished most of it, but she still had to find a way for it to not catch on fire. It wasn't working so she called a few of her close friends just just sit outside and enjoy some tea. It was so rare for Bulma to actually hang out with other females it was always a nice change. Even inviting Sara to join as she kept her head down, slightly unused to all this. Bulma just smiles as everyone got there. "These are some good friends of mine, this is Chi-chi, her daughter-in-law Videl, and Android 18."

Sara bows her head to them, looking to 18. "An odd name, what's a android?" Bulma just stays by her, there was still a lot to explain to the poor girl. For now they sat back, relaxed and talked about minor subjects. Sara didn't have much to say since she wasn't married nor did she have children. She jumps slightly when she feels Chi-chi touch her hand. "So you're not married?" Sara shakes her head. "No ma'am, to much wandering around to really met anyone.." She honestly didn't want to go into detail about her only failed relationship. She already told Trunks most of it. Bulma just smiles as she takes a drink. "She travels more then most of us had.."

Sara shifted slightly as she kept her eyes on her glass. Videl gives her a sympathetic smile. "You don't seem used to this.." She lets out a low sigh. "I don't...really talk to a lot of other women...Imoen and Jaheira were the only two I was ever really close to.." She had a hard time getting along with other females, even in the guild. Most were okay, for the most part but deep down she found most to be really annoying. She lets out a low laugh however as her tail moves slowly. "When I first met my friends, they seemed so lost, however over time we warmed up to one another.."

Her smile only brightens as she seems to relax a bit more. "In fact, it was shortly after we cleared out the Nashkel Mines Jaheira was the one who figured me out, no surprised she's a bit connected to nature..had a hell of a hard time hunting with her around..." She shakes her head as she takes a small drink. "She wasn't to bad, Imoen on the other hand had some sticky fingers, she was a good thief though, dyed her hair pink and it got stuck that way, kind of suites her." She had such fond memories, no one wanted to stop her. "We crossed paths with a few others, but most didn't stay long."

She glances down a bit as she watches the ice in her drink shift. "Alas, the call of the road is a hard one to ignore, but my time in the Gate was far from over. I didn't want to leave until I knew for sure the bandit problem was taken care of.." No one was sure where she was talking about. Bulma had to take a moment to tell them she came from a different Universe. Sara nods as she looks back down. "The place I ended up at was called Baldur's Gate, it's a huge port city with a lot of walls." She shakes her head as she continues. "Anyways, I wasn't alone, Khalid and Jaheira, they were married.."

Her ears fold down a bit, 'were'. "They were a bit mismatched, but you can tell they cared about one another.." Silence, she wasn't sure how long it was before she could speak again. "It's...still a blur, I just remember it was night and, something hit me, hard. When I first came to, all I could feel was blood, somewhere, couldn't move much.." She goes silent again as she looks down, not wanting to say more. "Khalid was the only casualty in that dungeon, not counting the thieves Iranicus killed, or the people he kept in jars..." She shudders at the memory. "And those dryads..the poor creatures..still don't want to think to deeply on what that madman did to them."

Bulma knew most of this already, how she and her friends had been tortured. The others, had not been filled in, and were too shocked to speak. Her ears flick as she looks back up. "Err, sorry about that, it's hard to believe that was almost a year ago when we walked out of there." She rubs the side of her head lightly as the rest of them could only hake their heads. Chi-chi was the first to reach out. "I'm so sorry you had to go through something like that, to lose a close friend.." Sara gave her a smile and nods. "Irenicus was...a cold man, who deserved a lot worse than what he got, but that's just how it is."

18 could only tap her finger, she to, understood what it was like, to be on a table with a strange man poking at her. However, she didn't remember much of anything and what little she did, she blocked out as best she could. She never did ask if her brother remembered anything, but the guy really didn't talk much as it was. "I get it, can't say I remember much of what I went though when Gero got his hands on me and my brother, to be fair, I still don't even remember how we got there.." She shrugs a bit as she leans back.

"Most of my body, isn't mine, inside most of what I was, was replaced with machine parts and, a few other things." She glances at Bulma who blushes, remembering the bomb that was once in 18. "But that's how I got my name...my real one was lost years ago." Sara didn't know what to say to that but nods. "Wow..so I guess you understand better than anyone." "I wasn't always like this, I didn't care about anyone else, but after Cell that changed and now I have my little girl and my husband." Sara gives her a warm smile. "I'm happy to hear things worked out for you."

Sara then blinks as she looks at them. "So wait, does that mean you have kids too?" She turns to Videl who nods. "I have a daughter, Pan, she's a year older than Bulla." Her ears flick as she glances down, placing a hand on her side. "Never gave much thought to having kids, you know, my job being as dangerous as it is." She shakes the thought away, that ship sailed years ago when she was almost killed by Baal. "Even if things calmed down, I wouldn't be able to, but Hell, I always figured I'd adopt anyways since I know what it's like to grow up without parents." Bulma beams at the thought. "I think that's a wonderful idea, I'm sure you'd be a good mother." Sara just smiles and enjoys her drink.
